Mountain Top Juvenile at Ruidoso Downs on June 18, Grafity, who was on the also-eligible list, drew into the body of the race and broke his maiden in stylish fashion in the 350-yard dash.
Ridden by Esgar Ramirez, Grafity broke alertly and dueled for command away from the starting gate. He fought through the lane and surged clear late to score by 1/2-length at the finish. Dismissed at odds of 14-1 after finishing fourth in his trial heat, Grafity stopped the timer in :17.974 in the winning effort.
A homebred for MRB Racing LLC, Grafity is now an earner of $21,400 and is a winner in one of two lifetime starts for trainer Manuel Rodriguez. Bred in New Mexico, Grafity is out of winner Paint On Canvas, who was a finalist for the 2018 Ruidoso Derby-G1.
Runner-up and race favorite Imperial Rein (Eye Am King-Fast Copy Miss) was denied a third consecutive victory but held second by a head under jockey Ricky Ramirez. The brown filly is owned by David Rogers, trained by Trey Wood, and was bred in New Mexico
by MJ Farms. She was a $32,000 graduate of the 2022 Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yeariing Sale.
Bigg Curlie Bill (Big Daddy Cartel-Curlie Cue) and jockey James Flores finished third for owner Roybal Racing LLC and trainer James Gonzalez. A winner of his trial heat, Bigg Curlie Bill was bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms, and was a $50,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate.

alled A Dynasty secured his first stakes victory
in the $45,000 John Andreini Memorial at Ruidoso Downs on May 29.
With Damian Corral aboard, Called A Dynasty broke sixth from the 3-post and immediately took the lead, crossing the wire a head in front. They made quick work of the 350-yards, stopping the clock in :17.370, while posting a 97 speed index.
Called A Dynasty snagged the $27,000 winner’s share of the purse for owners Christian Salcido & Alfonso Molina and trainer Lee Gutierrez, pushing his current bankroll to $83,530. He has now won or placed in six of his nine starts.
Michael Teel bred Called A Dynasty out of winner Call As Maybe, runner-up in the 2015 Canterbury Distaff Bonus Challenge. She is a half- sister to Believers Gathering, winner of the Iowa Double Gold Derby-RG3, Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge and Charlie Claborn Memorial. Call As Maybe has produced five winners from eight startes, including Not A Secret, who finished third in the 2021 Prairie Meadows Gold Derby and Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge. Called A Dynasty is her first stakes winner.
Called A Dynasty’s second dam is 11-time winner None As Easy, half-sister to Cartel Caliente, who placed third in the Remington Park Derby-G2 and Kansas Derby-RG3. None As Easy won the Valley Junction Futurity-G2, Central Juvenile Challenge-G3, Central Distaff Challenge-G3, Miss Blackhawk Stakes (twice), Pony Express Stakes and Woodlands Championship Handicap. She set a New Track Record in the 2006 version of the Miss Blackhawk Stakes for 350 yards at Prairie Meadows.
Valiant Charm (Valiant Hero-Charmin Chief Corona) and jockey Emilio Tapia came in second for owner/trainer Juan Esquivel. The gelding was also second in the West Texas Maturity-G3 and La Plata Stakes earlier this year.
In third place was Regalo Coronados (Coronado Cartel-Dianes Easter Gift) ridden by Adrian Ramos for owner Victor Marroquin and trainer Carlos Acosta Jr. The stallion won the 2021 Mike Hastings Memorial at Turf Paradise.
Hesa Party Wagon (Hes Relentless-Lil Miss Party Doll), Alamo Lake (Favorite Cartel-No Arizona), Bomb Cyclone (Favorite Cartel-Remember Me Rose), Mitey Political (Apollitical Jess-Mitey Moon), Lethal Avenger (Volcom-Lethal Class), Be Quiet (Kiddy Up-Thinking Out Loud) and Artillero (A Revenant-Ima Tempting Dash) completed the order of finish.

Mexico-bred runners, Javier M. Chavez’s Big Crush BB scored a wire-to-wire victory in the 400- yard Jess Burner Stakes at Ruidoso Downs on June 4.
Big Crush BB reached the wire in :19.298, and his winning margin was 1 1/4-lengths from 15-1 longshot Hunky McGoo. Emilio Tapia rode the 4-year-old
Big Daddy Cartel stallion for trainer Jose Ignacio DeHerrera. Big Crush BB earned a 103 speed index and the $27,000 winner’s share of a $45,000 purse.
The colt was bred by Ralph Vincent and Beverly Bourguet, and he was coming off of a 3/4-length score in a division of the $100,000 Jimmy Drake Stakes-RG3 at SunRay Park on April 28.
Big Crush BB is out of Eagles First Down, an unraced daughter of Champion One Famous Eagle. Big Crush BB has won five of 17 starts, and the Jess Burner represented the stallion’s first victory in six outs at Ruidoso Downs. His earnings total $172,460, and his resume includes a third-place finish, 2-lengths behind winner HS Golden Eagle, in the 2021 New Mexico State Fair Futurity-RG3 at Albuquerque Downs.
Hunky McGoo (Big Daddy Cartel-Physical Touch) banked the $9,000 runner-up share of the purse for his owners William R. Robertson and Mary Robertson. Christian Ramos rode the homebred 4-year-old gelding for trainer Marc Jungers.
Diezs Daylight ran third, 1 3/4 lengths behind Big Crush BB. Mario Delgado rode the 5-year-old gelding for owner and trainer Jaime G. Aldavaz Sr.
