The New Mexico Bred Sale, which was
held Aug. 19-20 at the Ruidoso Downs Sales Pavilion, was split into two sessions. Quarter Horses yearlings sold both Friday and Saturday, with Thoroughbreds selling Saturday as well. Reflecting Quarter Horse yearling sales only, preliminary figures saw stable numbers and gross sales nearing $2 million with 140 head selling from 185 offered compared to 133 head that sold in 2015.
The co-high seller at $60,000 was Hip #88 He Be Flashy (First Moonflash-Seven Coronas, Corona Caliente), a sorrel colt consigned by Double LL Farms, LLC, Agent and purchased by Jack Manning. He Be Flashy is a sibling to two stakes runners and is out of stakes winning Seven Coronas, who is a half-sister to New Track Record setter/Grade 1 winner Streak Of Sixes. The other co-high seller at $60,000 was Hip #178 Wild Daddy (Big Daddy Cartel- Wild Vines, The Signature), a sorrel gelding consigned by MJ Farms, Agent and purchased by Jack Manning. Wild Daddy is half-brother to Grade 1 winner Wild Six. The 2nd-highest seller at $47,000 was Hip #158 CD Daddys Home (Big Daddy Cartel-Roughian, Valiant Hero), a sorrel filly consigned by Cindy Dick and purchased by Stan Sigman. CD Daddys Home is a first foal out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Templar Knight and her second dam is All American Futurity-G1 second placed Dash Of Perry.
