Dash For Cash Futurity-G2

The flashy gray colt Inspyre has every reason to be a special horse for owner/breeder Bobby Cox. The regally-bred colt, who is by Corona Cartel and out of the multiple graded stakes-placed Sinuous (also bred and raced by Cox) and a half-brother to last year’s AQHA Racing World Champion Whistle Stop Cafe, became a stakes winner in just his fifth lifetime start with a victory in the $414,995 Dash for Cash Futurity-G2 at Lone Star Park on Oct. 2.
Ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo, Inspyre bumped at the gate soon after the start of the 400-yard test, but still managed to break with the leaders and raced in third position early. He got on terms with early leader Smoky Ice and dueled with that rival the length of the lane.
At the wire, it was Inspyre prevailing by a neck with Smoky Ice and jockey Francisco Calderon in second. Dashing Movement, piloted by Victor Urieta Jr., finished a nose behind the runner-up in third. Race favorite
