the ability of Streaker foals to get around the barrel quicker and the Dash Ta Fame mares having the speed coming out of the barrels. She believes all breeders should pay attention to this in planning their breedings to get the best foal possible.
Here are some examples of the A Streak Of Fling and Dash Ta Fame crosses starting with the great mare Fame Fling
N Bling, winner of $778,324 and winner of the barrel racing at the RFD-TV American Rodeo. Fame Fling N Bling is a full sister to A Streak Of Fame, the 2010 FFI Beth Cooper Memorial Open Reserve Champion and an up and coming sire from this cross. Some other A Streak Of Fling/Dash Ta Fame barrel horses include Streaking Queenie, winner of $92,743; Fame In A Fling, winner of $91,624;
VC GoGo Fling, winner of $74,637 and Aint God Good, winner of $74,220. The success of the A Streak Of Fling/Dash Ta Fame cross is reinforced with A Dash Ta Streak, a son of A Streak Of Fling and out of Silver Creek Dash by Dash Ta Fame. He stands with his sire in the Fulton breeding program.
A Streak Of Fling has also had a lot of success with other broodmare sires. Here are some examples. Streakin Easy April has earned $293,846 winning
titles like WPRA World Finals Open
Slot Championship. She is out of Easy April Lena by Doc O Dynamite. His
son Flingin Roses won $149,488 and
his titles include the 2020 BFA World Championship Futurity 4-Year-Old Open Slot Championship. He is out
of Dancing Rose Lady by Disco Jerry. Streakinflingindisco earned $126,772 and her record includes a Reserve Championship in the Jackson Hall Memorial 4-Year Old. In the AQHA she is Superior in barrel racing, and she was the 2020 World Show Level 2 Champion
Senior Barrel Horse. Her dam is Lot A Disco by Disco Jerry. KR Last Fling won $133,577 and was the 2015 Diamonds & Dirt Futurity 5Yo & Under Open Champion. She was out of Sancee Bug by Shawne Bug. French Streaktovegas, winner of $74,115, is the 2012 BFA World Championship Futurity 6YO & Under Open Champion. He is out of PC Frenchmans Flirt by Sun Frost.
Lisa added this, “Streaker took off in the barrel racing industry. And we got him out to a few barrel racers, which was a key at the start. Now I really worked hard to show the versatility side with the ropers because that is what we bought him for to begin with. He was bought to be a calf roping, team roping and bulldogging sire and that is what we were shooting for, and little did we know it would take off in the barrel racing and that is wonderful!” A Streak
Of Fling is now the Equi-Stat #3 all-time leading sire of barrel racing money winners with earnings of $6,480,794.
Lisa noted that she promotes versatility in their breeding program. A Streak Of Fling has shown us that he is a barrel
sire, and now let’s profile some of his
other winners that show his versatility as
a sire. As you know, he might have met that challenge as well. We will begin with Streakin Boon Dox, the 2011 AQHA High Point All Around Champion and the 2011 AQHA High Point Heeling Horse. He has earned 410 AQHA points in heading, heeling, tie-down roping and pole bending. He is superior in heading and heeling. He is a WPRA money earner in barrel racing. His dam is PC Joesy Dox by Boon Dox John. Streakin Sun Dew
is an WNFR qualifier and the 2016 Bob Fiest Invitational Champion Header. His dam is PC Sun Dew by Sun Frost. Oz Ona Hot Streak is the 2019 AQHA World Champion Junior Heeling Horse with
62 AQHA performance points. Streakin Disco is a two time Windy City Roundup Champion Heeler. His dam is Lot A Disco by Disco Jerry. This makes her a full sister to Streakinflingindisco featured above in barrel racing.
Brian died in 2015 after a long battle with brain cancer. When we were talking, Lisa paid tribute to Brian and the legacy he left behind as a horseman. “I grew up with horses. I am a fourth generation horseman. I grew up on a ranch and horses have always been in my world. But Brian was the horseman. He just had that natural ability.”
With Brian gone, it left Lisa and their sons Jake, Jared and John Lloyd to carry on, and they have done just that. There have been changes and adjustments as the boys have grown and become an integral part of the ranch. Jake is following his dad as the trainer for the ranch. Jared, after his return from the Army, has become involved in the haying operation with John Lloyd still in school and working around the ranch. His plan is to become the ranch accountant. They are all fully vested in the success of Fulton Performance Horses.
This leads us to ask, has Fulton Performance Horses met the original goal? A young horse in training and waiting in the wings is Flingin Jameson, a 2018 foal being trained for roping. He is sired by
A Streak Of Fling and out of Easy April Whiskey by Paddys Irish Whiskey, and she was the last mare that Brian was able to fully train for his sons. The dam of Easy April Whiskey is Easy April Lena, the dam of Streakin Easy April, the WPRA World Finals Open Slot Championship and one of the leading a barrel racing offspring of A Streak Of Fling. That sounds like that
is just what Brian would have wanted and the success of A Streak Of Fling has been the asset that has helped them continue Fulton Family Performance Horses.
