The $421,165 All American Oaks is a race specifically designed for 3-year-old fillies. This year will be the inaugural running of this new event.
In the trials for this race, the temperatures were again in the mid 80’s with light tail and cross winds to start off the day. However, by the two final trials, the wind shifted to a tail wind, reaching 12 mph.
There were four qualifiers from the first heat, one from the second, the fastest quali- fier, three from the third race and two from the final heat. Homebreds dominated the field with six qualifying to the finals – fastest qualifier Ratification, who is bred and owned by Bobby D. Cox; third fastest qualifier Kiss Thru Fire, who is bred and owned by Gentry Farms; fourth fastest Kylee Joy, who is bred and owned by Rodney Christian- sen; sixth fastest qualifier Foxys First Kiss, who is owned and was bred by Bobby Sim- mons; seventh fastest BV Sheslikethewind, who is bred and owned by Bella Vista Farms; and ninth fastest Amethyst, who is bred and owned by MRB Racing LLC. No owners or breeders qualified more than one. Trainer Clinton Crawford qualified two in Kieva and Foxys First Kiss, and jockeys Benito Baca, Francisco Calderon and Mario Delgado each qualified two to the finals to be run on Sunday, September 6.
