Cox bred Ratification in Texas by cross-
ing the stakes-winning First Down Dash mare Shesa First Ratify with Apollitical Jess. Shesa First Ratify won the 2010 Lubbock Stakes-G2 and finished second in the 2009 All American Futurity-G1. The mare has produced eight win- ners from 14 starters, as well as Three Times A Ladye, a 3 year old who has not yet won but fin- ished third in the 2019 Ruidoso Juvenile Stakes.
Noe Garcia Jr. rode Valiant Astica (Valiant Hero-Astica) to second for owners J & SM Inc. and Jimmy Childs and trainer Fred Danley. Valiant Astica earned fourth-place money in last year’s Rainbow Futurity-G1.
Southern Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Marys Southernpolicy), bred by Matt Dunn and raced in the name of Dunn Ranch, finished third. James Flores rode her for trainer Monty Arrossa. Earlier this year at Los Alamitos, Southern Wagon won the La Pacifica Handicap and ran second in the Los Alamitos Oaks-G3.
Fernweh (Favorite Cartel-Jess A Lil
Bit More) finished fourth but was dis- qualified and placed ninth. That moved BV Sheslikethewind (Apollitical Jess-Corona Cayenne) into fifth, followed by Rocket Seis (Tres Seis-Going To The Hague), Why (First Down Dash-Whip Curl), Kieva (Apollitical Jess-Amg Six Point Three) and Jess Find Me (Mr Jess Perry-First Lady Amber). Lil Miss Sashay was scratched.
