                 POWER FADE
Is On His Way To Winning the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown
by Heather Ridgway
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown awards two Champions – the Triple Crown Champion and the Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion. 2020 marks the ninth year of the Speedhorse sponsored event.
The first leg, the $136,700 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, was won by the Paint filly Power Fade (Painted Turnpike-Fade Shot, Fade To Fame) at Remington Park on May 30. Power Fade went wire-to-wire in this race, finishing 1/2-length to the good, with Lota Cowboy Try finishing second and This Wire Is Hot and Queen For Cash finishing in a dead heat for third.
The two-year-old Paint filly most recently won the second leg in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at Tulsa Fair Meadows on July 25, winning that race by a nose. She was followed by Captain Capi in second and Mammy Jammer in third.
Power Fade is owned by J. Lloyd Yother and J. Garvan Kelly and is trained by Dee Keener. Juan Pulido rode Power Fade in
the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington Park, and Daniel Torres was aboard for her victory in the
Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Fair Meadows at Tulsa.
If Power Fade goes on to win the third leg of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown, her owners will be awarded with a $35,000 discount toward the purchase of a SportChassis, LLC heavy-duty truck, a trophy and a buckle.
Even if the filly does not win the third leg, Power Fade, who currently has 20 points from her victories in the first two legs, will likely
be named the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion.
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion awards points according to finishing position in each race, and the winner will receive additional awards, including a $5,000 cash bonus.
The only other contender for the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion title is This Wire Is Hot, who currently has 12.5 points.
If Power Fade wins the third leg of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown, she will become just the second horse to achieve that honor behind Painted Turnpike, who earned the title in 2015.
Power Fade wins the $136,700 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington Park on May 30, the first leg of the Speedorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown.
Power Fade wins the $70,200 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 by a nose at Tulsa
Fair Meadows on July 25, the second leg of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown.
