was 2nd in the Los Alamitos Championship Challenge-G2, 5th in both the Independence Day Handicap-G3 and First Down Dash Handicap, and was a finalist in the Go
Man Go Handicap-G1, AQHA Challenge Championship-G1 and Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship-G1. At 5, he was 2nd in the Los Alamitos Championship Challenge-G3, 3rd in the Spencer Childers California Breeders’ Championship-G1, and was a finalist in the Go Man Go Handicap-G1.
All told, he captured 4 of 23 lifetime starts and earned $420,890, the bulk of which was won as a 2 year old in 2009.
Shining First Dash is a half-brother to graded stakes winner and top sire Shazoom. His dam, Keep On Shining, is a AAAT winner of 2 races and is an All-Time Leading Dam of ROM.
“Shining First Dash is definitely bred to be a tremendous sire,” said Jason Thomas, farm manager at Delta Equine Center. “His babies are showing it in the way they look conforma- tion wise. They are big, healthy, racy-looking babies. In fact, his breedings picked up this year from last just because people have been able to see his babies. We are really hopeful.
“They like his babies so much because they look like him,” Thomas added. “He’s a very good – looking horse. He has a nice big motor in the back that ties down deep, and you can tell he has a lot of drive. His babies are coming out the same way.”

“It just seems like yesterday we got him and already his yearlings are
going to the sale,” remarked Ryan Robicheaux. “We are so excited about him and his potential to be a sire! Coming from such a strong bottom side with Strawberry Silk! He is a big horse, about 16 hands, and so far it looks like he is throwing his size.”
