The dam of Image Of Reality was Edee’s Image by Cornish Prince by Bold Ruler. The dam of Edee’s Image was Ortalan by Swaps. Swaps, the Kentucky Derby winner, was sired by Khaled by Hyperion.
In Reality raced against the best and won his share. He won such stakes as the Florida Derby and the Fountain of Youth and was second in the Preakness - all at the age of three. He came back at four to win the Carter Handicap and the Metropolitan Handicap.
In Reality as a sire put such noted horses as Believe It on the track. Believe It won the Wood Memorial in 1973, beating Secretariat. Believe It went on to be third in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness behind Secretariat
and Sham. Believe It is the dam sire of Real Quiet, one of Baffert’s Kentucky Derby
and Preakness winners. Real Quiet lost the Belmont Stakes by a nose to Victory Gallop.

The In Reality influence on the “clas- sic” racehorse is seen today through horses like Tiznow, 2-time Breeder’s Cup Classic winner and 2001 Horse of the Year. Tiznow is sired by Cees Tizzy by Relaunch by In Reality. Tiznow is the sire of horses like Well Armed, winner of the Dubai World Cup in 2009, and Colonel John, winner of the 2008 Travers Stakes-G1 and the 2008 Santa Anita Derby-G1.

Star Of Goshen, the dam of Pioneerof The Nile, was a stakes winner of $146,030. Her stakes win was in the La Troienne Stakes - a race at seven furlongs which she won by 11-lengths. Her sire was Lord At War, an Argentina bred horse by General and out of Luna De Miel. Lord At War was a Champion Sprinter in Argentina. He was brought to the United States to race, where he won the Santa Anita Handicap-G1. The Santa Anita Handicap is run at the classic distance of one and a quarter mile. Lord At War is the broodmare sire of War Emblem, another one of Bob Baffert’s Kentucky Derby and Preakness winners that did not go on to win the Belmont. An added note here about General, the sire of Lord At War: we see he is out of Mercuriale, who is out of Simima, a daughter of Hyperion.
