The first Breeders’ Cup Champion trained by Baffert was Thirty Slews, who won the 1992 Breeder’s Cup Sprint. Baffert entered the Triple Crown trail in 1996 when he trained Cavonnier, who finished second in the Kentucky Derby by a nose to Grindstone.
A couple of years ago, a colt named Bodemeister gave a great example of a speed horse trained by Baffert and owned by Zayat Stables. Bodemeister was a fast race- horse that showed his speed in the Arkansas Derby-G1 with a 9 1/2-length win. He then finished second in both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. - the first Thoroughbred Triple Crown win- ner of the Kentucky Derby-G1, Preakness Stakes-G1 and the Belmont Stakes-G1 in 37 years. A feat some thought was impossible.
American Pharoah was bred by the Zayat Stables in Kentucky. He is racing for the Zayat Stables under the capable hands of Bob Baffert, who became fascinated with racing as a young man growing up
in Arizona. After graduation from the University of Arizona, he began mak-

He had won nine Triple Crown races with horses like Lookin At Lucky, Point Given, Silver Charm, Real Quiet and War Emblem - each winning
