                 La Señora Stakes (R)
Two Stepper, a homebred Attila’s Storm filly owned by R.D. Hubbard and Paul Blanchard, outran her 15-1 odds to win the January 18 La Senora Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred sopho- more fillies at Sunland Park.
Ridden by Roimes Chirinos, Two Stepper covered 6 furlongs in 1:10.53, and her margin of victory was 1 1/4 lengths from
5-2 second choice Tight Fittin Jeans. Todd Fincher prepped the bay filly.
Two Stepper became the 21st stakes winner from 10 crops sired by Attila’s Storm, a Grade 3-winning 18-year-old son of the Storm Cat stal- lion Forest Wildcat. Racing between 2004-07, Attila’s Storm earned $534,983 from 17 starts, and his five wins included the ’07 Toboggan Handicap (G3) at Aqueduct. He also ran second in the 2005 Malibu Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita Park.
Attila’s Storm has sired 156 winners from 205 starters and the earners of more than $12.2 million, including multiple stakes winners Hush’s Storm, Go For A Stroll, Little Vidalia, and Forger. The stallion is owned by and stands for a $4,000 at Fred and Linda Alexander’s A & A Ranch at Anthony, New Mexico.
Two Stepper is also one of seven win- ners from nine starters produced by Samba
Queen, a 17-year-old daughter of the Storm Cat stallion Giant’s Causeway. The filly is a half-sister to two stakes winners -- six-time stakes winner Sippin and Mancation, the winner of the 2014 New Mexico Breeders’ Derby (R) at Sunland Park.
Two Stepper’s second dam, the unraced Baronius (BRZ) mare Misty Moon (BRZ), foaled three stakes winners, all of whom are half-sisters to Samba Queen, including Virginie (BRZ), the winner of the ’99 Beverly Hills Handicap (G1) at Hollywood Park, and two- time stakes winner Moon Dolly (GB).
Two Stepper was shortening in distance off of her third-place finish in a 6 1/2-fur- long, $51,000 open-condition allowance race for New Mexico-bred fillies at Zia Park on December 17. The filly returned a $33.80 win mutuel and teamed with Tight Fittin Jeans for a $201.80 ($2) exacta.
Blue Blazes Who, a 12-1 longshot, ran third, two lengths behind Two Stepper. Gold Of Roses, Holiday Heat, Citron Attila, and Count Them Again completed the order of finish.
Tight Fittin Jeans races for Greg Green, Delinda M. Green, and Corie O’Connor. A homebred daughter of the Indian Charlie
stallion Shame On Charlie, the filly has won one of two starts, and the $20,000 runner-up share of the La Senora Stakes purse increased her earnings to $41,600.
Blue Blazes Who is campaigned by Sam E. Stevens and Sammy L. Stevens. A $20,000 claimer during the 2019 Zia Park fall meet, the homebred daughter of the Carson City stallion Quinton’s Gold has won two of five races, and the $10,000 third-place share
of the La Senora purse pushed her the gray
or roan filly’s bankroll to $32,828. She
was a finalist in the Rio Grande Senorite Thoroughbred Futurity last year.
