the stakes finalist Mr Deck Moore in the 1966 All American Futurity and the 1967 Rainbow Derby. Vanetta Dee’s third ROM runner was Vanetta Bar, who was the dam of Marcy Bar, a stakes winner in the 1968 Fall Futurity, and she was the dam of Jet Commanche, the 1975 Champion Three- Year-Old Gelding.
The 1953 foal of Garrettsmisspawhuska and Vandy was Vannevar. This gelding made 65 starts with four stakes wins, six seconds and two thirds earning $40,378. Vannevar won his first stakes in the 1956 Pacific Coast QHRA Derby. He earned the Champion Gelding title that year. He won two stakes in 1957, including the Shue Fly Stakes. He earned the title of the 1957 Champion Gelding. He then added the Peter McCue Stakes in 1958 and the Miss Princess Invitational Handicap in 1960.
Vandy’s Flash was a gelding born in 1954, the next runner in this set of runners by Vandy and out of Garrettsmisspawhuska. He earned $101,848 in 106 starts winning eight stakes, with seven seconds and nine thirds. He had two stakes wins in 1957 including the Ruidoso Derby and the New Mexico State Fair Breeders’ Derby. He won one stakes in 1958 and was named the Champion Gelding for the year. He also
had four seconds that year. He came back in 1960 to win four stakes races including the Shue Fly Stakes, Los Alamitos Invitational Championship, Clabbertown G Handicap and Autumn Championship. He was named the 1960 World Champion and the Champion Gelding. He won one more stakes, the Barbra B Handicap in 1964, the year he retired.
Vansarita was the next foal born in 1955 and she was unraced and the dam of one foal. His name was Vanzi Bar, and he was AAA rated winner of four starts. He sired one stakes winner in Van Bar Dee, winner of the 1966 South Dakota Futurity. The dam of Van Bar
Dee is Vanna Mio by Vandy. This gives Van Bar Dee a breeding pattern of 3x2 to Vandy. The dam of Vanna Mio was Bunny Girl by Leo Jr by Leo. This gives Van Bar Dee a breeding pattern 4x4 to Leo.
Miss Vanity joined the family in 1958 and she was stakes placed including a second in the 1960 Las Ninas Handicap. She was the dam of only five foals with three starters and one ROM.
