RYANSMANONTHEMOON

Ryansmanonthemoon notched his first stakes victory in the $211,142 Shue Fly Stakes at Sunland Park on Jan. 26.
The three-year-old bay gelding and jockey
Mauro Salcedo broke well from the inside post and dueled with the leaders until they appro- aced the finish.
Ryansmanonthemoon was up at the wire and crossed the line a neck in front, stopping the clock in :19.309 for 400 yards to earn a career-high 96 speed index.
The gelding brought home the $99,237 winner’s share of the Shue Fly purse for owners/ breeders Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vasquez, boosting his total earning’s to $142,917. His race record stands at 11-3(1)-2-0.
Ryansmanonthemoon finished close second in his Jan. 4 trial heat, a neck behind the win- ner, and was the sixth fastest qualifier to the main event.
Since jockey Mauro Salcedo has been in the saddle on Ryansmanonthemoon, the gelding has won two of his four starts. His other two starts under Salcedo were second place finishes.
Another change for Ryansmanonthemoon was with his trainer. Cynthia Gonzalez has been his conditioner in his last five outings.
Ryansmanonthemoon is out of 2014 Zia Futurity-RG1 winner Girlonthego,
who was also a finalist in that year’s New Mexican Spring Fling-RG1. A three-time winner, the mare earned $174,146 dur- ing her racing career.
As a mare, Girlonthego has produced 100% winners/ ROM earners from her first two starters.

Daddys Lil Girl. The filly
finished fourth in the 2018 New Mexican Spring Futurity-RG2 and was also a final-
ist in the Mountain Top Futurity-RG3. Ryansmanonthemoon is the top money earner as well as the first stakes winner of the brood.
CD Mamas Boy (First Moonflash-Mama Rosa B) was the ninth-fastest qualifer to the Shue Fly Stakes, finishing third in the trials to winner Freedom Flash and second-placed Ryansmanonthemoon. CD Mamas Boy was out of the gates a bit tardy in the finals, but gained a lot of ground during the second
half of the race under rider Jesse Levario.The gelding came away with second place money for owner Daniel A. Ramirez and trainer Jimmy Guerra. CD Mamas Boy also finished
third in last year’s Zia Futurity-G1.
Under Manuel Gutierrez, Woodys Copy Cat (Woodbridge-Fast Copy Miss) overcame some bump- ing at the start of the race
to pocket the third place check for owner Enrique Barrera and trainer Cynthia Gonzalez. The filly was com- ing off a four-race win streak that included a 1/2-length
win in her Shue Fly trial heat as well as a win the the $315,450 New Mexico Classic Futurity.

Fastest qualifier HS Paul Walker (Osbaldo- Strawberryberryfast) was disqualified from fourth to eighth for interference and was followed by CD Flash And Fame (First Moonflash-Famous Phoebe) and El Red (Dashing Vike-Fancy Easter Parade).
