APHA names 2018 Hall of Fame Class
Outstanding horsemen and -women, united in their love for remarkable and talented horses, are the foundation upon which the American Paint Horse Association grows. It is through their labors—to improve the breed, smash records and strive for greatness—that the Paint Horse is a colorful leader throughout the global horse community.
To be inducted into the APHA Hall of Fame requires a lifetime of achievement and a legacy that has impacted the association and the breed. Without fail, inductees worked
in their own ways to champion the Paint Horse and make a lasting impact for future generations. These individuals and the earlier classes will be honored in the APHA Hall
of Fame and Educational Outreach Center located in the association’s new office at the Fort Worth Stockyards. The inductees of the 2018 APHA Hall of Fame class have been announced and they are:
Horsemen and -Women:
• Jim & Judy Schehen, Bend, Oregon
• Jean & the late Dale Fell, Franktown, Colorado • MaryAnn & the late Floyd Moore,
Huntsville, Texas
Horses:
• Judys Lineage
• Like A Diamond
• Q T Poco Streke
• Scribbles
“It is our responsibility as APHA members to remember the past and honor those who have made today’s APHA possible,” Executive Director Billy Smith said. “The honorees of the 2018 Hall of Fame class have had significant impact on APHA.”
Racing Owners Participation Fee
A racing participation fee will be assessed annually to all recorded owners of race starters. Recorded owner of multiple horses will pay fee one time if the exact name is the same on all horses. Payment will be due on or before March 1 annually with late fees assessed after March 1. Non-payment of the owner participation fee will not reflect on a horse’s past performance as records will be kept on all horses; however, if a horse qualifies for any award they
will be ineligible to receive if fee or subsequent late payment penalty has not been paid.
All racing year-end awards will be awarded to the owner or lessee on record as of Dec. 31 of the qualifying year, given the owner or lessee on record has paid all fees and is a current member. (See fee schedule in front of Rule Book)
Racing Fee Schedule:
Annual Racing Participation fee $25 due by March 1. Late fee: $100 after March 1
