A Political Lady faced first-class competition throughout the year at Los Alamitos. She always acquitted herself well, especially during the first half of the year, when she was unstoppable.
Bred and raced in California by the Parsons Ranch, A Political Lady put together a six-race win streak that began in late 2017, when she won the Los Alamitos $2 Million Juvenile Stakes. Trainer Christopher O’Dell unveiled her in 2018 in an allowance race as a tune-up for the La Primera Del Ano Derby-G3.

her trial, A Political Lady went off as the 9-10 favorite in the final. Ridden by Eduardo Nicasio, she came away from the gate well in third and then demolished her rivals by 1 1/4-lengths in an impressive performance.
A Political Lady was just getting started.
She added two more stakes victories, in the La Pacifica Handicap and Vandy’s Flash Handicap, the first by another 1 1/4-lengths and the second by 1/2-length. She finished third in the Los Alamitos Super Derby-G1 and qualified to the Southern California Derby-G2. To begin 2019, she picked up right where she left off, running third in the Jan. 6 Charger Bar Handicap-G1 despite being bumped at the start.
Jay and Polly Parsons began the Parsons Ranch, which today is headed by their children, Jay and Cindy, and their spouses, Char Parsons and Brian Hatley.
