The dam of Evil Elaine was Distinctive Elaine by Distinctive, who was the winner
of four stakes including the Gravesend Handicap (6 furlongs) and the Rumsom Handicap (6 furlongs). Distinctive was out of Precious Lady by Requested by Questionaire. Requested was the sire of Custus Rastus, a sire of Quarter Horses. The dam of Precious Lady is Albania by Bull Dog. Distinctive Elaine was out of Jackie Dare, winner of
the Maryland Futurity. Jackie Dare was
sired by Prince Dare and out of Jacoenda by Endeavor. Distinctive Elaine was the dam
of another stakes winner in Ravensmoore, winner of the Ta Wee Stakes.
The Thoroughbred sire record for Favorite Trick shows that he sired the winners of $17 million with 45 stakes horses. His stakes winners include Yucatan, winner of the Forego Stakes (6.5 furlongs), Zoeling, winner of the Mr Jenney Handicap (5 furlongs),
and Sum Trick, winner of the Riley Allison Futurity (6.5 furlongs).
The Quarter Horse sire record for Favorite Trick shows that to date he has sired 127 registered foals, 86 starters, 63 ROM, and earners of $4,329,294. He sired 10 stakes horses, including six stakes winners and four stakes placed runners. The 2006 breeding season would produce his largest Quarter Horse foal crop with 80 foals coming in 2007. The 2007 crop would produce Good Reason SA and Favorite Cartel.
Good Reason SA was bred by Gianni Franco Samaja from Brazil. Good Reason SA was raced by Samaja under the management of Vince Genco in the U.S. and trained by Paul Jones. Good Reason SA raced 15 times from two to four with at least one major stakes win in each year he raced. He won the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1 at two, the Golden State Derby-G1 at three, and the Los Alamitos Winter Championship-G1 and Champion of Champions-G1 at four. His earnings were $1,446,727. He was named the 2011 Champion Aged Stallion and the 2011 Champion Aged Horse.
Good Reason SA is out of the mare Queen Of Appeals, a stakes winner in the Charger Bar Handicap. She won $83,988 on the track. Queen Of Appeals is the dam of
17 foals with 15 starters that have earned 13 ROM. She is the dam of three stakes winners, including Good Reason SA, Jabuti Eagle SA, winner of the Southern California Derby-G1, and Appeals King Special, winner of the Jack Gifford Stakes.
Special Queen SA, a stakes placed daughter of Queen Of Appeals in the Ed Burke Memorial Futurity-G1, is the dam of
Fantastic Corona who was a multiple stakes placed runner in races like the All American Derby-G1. Charlotte Bryan, a race-winning daughter of Queen Of Appeals, is the dam of South American Champion Jake Gold BR. The sire of Queen Of Appeals is First
Down Dash by Dash For Cash. The dam of Queen Of Appeals is Totally Illegal by Tolltac by Beduino TB. Thus, we have the First Down Dash/Beduino TB nick in this mare. Totally Illegal was a multiple stakes winner, with graded stakes wins in the QHBC Juvenile Classic-G1 and Governor’s Cup Futurity-RG1. Totally Illegal is the dam of 13 ROM with four stakes winners in Illegal Fireworks, Rumor Had It, and Lawful. The dam of Totally Illegal is Azures Marge by A Zure Request and out of Dynamo Watch.
The first crop of runners sired by Good Reason SA was made up of 54 starters, including 26 winners with two stakes winners and four stakes placed runners. This gives him 15% stakes horses from starters. The leading money winner sired by Good Reason SA is Jess Good Candy, the 2015
All American Futurity-G1 winner and the 2015 AQHA Racing Champion Two-Year- Old Colt. The dam of Jess Good Candy is Jess Send Candy by Mr Jess Perry. The dam of Jess Send Candy is Send Me The Candy
by Leaving Memories by First Down Dash. Thus, we have an example of line breeding
in Jess Good Candy through returning the blood of First Down Dash to the foal through the dam of Good Reason SA. Thus, we are line breeding to First Down Dash with an outcross coming from Favorite Trick.
The second stakes winner for Good Reason SA is Woop Dee Doo, winner of the Heartland Futurity. This gelding is also the second stakes winner out of a Mr Jess Perry mare and her name is Jess Racy Eyes. The dam of Jess Racy Eyes is Miss Racy Eyes by Mr
Eye Opener. Mr Eye Opener is sired by Dash For Cash and out of Bedawee by Beduino
TB. Thus, we have another returning the blood. This time we are seeing a line breeding through the Dash For Cash/Beduino nick with an outcross to Favorite Trick.
When we look at the four 2015 stakes placed runners sired by Good Reason SA,
we see a similar breeding pattern in three of them. They are Much Better Reason, Send Me Good Candy, and Klas Of Reason. They all carry a similar line breeding pattern to First Down Dash and/or the Dash For Cash/ Beduino TB nick in their dam’s pedigree.
The fourth stakes placed runner is Love To Reason BR, who is out of Strength In Numbers by Strawfly Special. The dam of
The success of Good Reason SA and Favorite Cartel is testimony
to Favorite Trick as a Thoroughbred sire of running Quarter Horses.
