Special Jumpn Chic (Jumpn Chic
– Eyell Fool Ya); Conquests (FDD Dynasty – Itsmybag TB); YM Rapid (Corona Cartel – Also A High); Hauling The Cash (Holland Ease – Take The Cash Willie); Perla Tapatía (Millennium Cartel – A Regal Legacy); y MS Dragon (Genuine Strawfly – Hidden Dragon).
After racing six times at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie
and Ruidoso Downs, achiev- ing second place once, Tessta Rossa was acquired for Rancho Amecameca and brought to Mexico, where on his second attempt, he won his maiden at the Hipodromo de las Americas and then two consecutive wins.
Afterwards he was second in the Revelation Clasico trials, which qualified him for the finals that he won on June 7, 2015. His record had sufficient merit for him to be designated Cinderella Horse of the season. It is worthwhile to note that, in that same year, he was also fourth in the Kisses To Yawl Handicap, hav- ing waited until the next running to win and reconcile with the victory this year.
The reward for his efforts was $167,160 pesos (approximately US $8,863), while his
The classic in honor of the great runner
and son of By Yawl, the Kisses To Yawl Handicap, was held on July 10 on the main straight of the Hipodromo de las Americas at
a distance of 440 yards with the participation of seven competitors four years and older vying for a prize of $278,600 pesos (approximately US $14,771).
The main attraction in this classic was the debut of Mr Victory Six, a red bay registered
by Cuadra Las Palmas with good experience
in racetracks of the state of Texas, but mainly at Ajax Downs in Ontario, Canada, where
his most recent achievement was winning the Ajax Downs Championship Challenge on Aug. 16, 2015. The public placed him as a favorite, closing with odds of 0.50 cents for each peso despite his being a debutante at the Hipodromo de las Americas.
Apparently his lack of adaptation to the Mexican track, as well as carrying the heaviest
jockey (59 kilos), left him at a disadvantage compared to other participants and he closed for fourth.
The Kisses To Yawl
Handicap was a race
without incident where
Tessta Rossa, the oldest of
the group at seven years of
age, had a good start which
allowed him to take the lead in the middle
of the lane after leaving from position 3 with the support of Moises Gonzalez García. From there, he showed them the way and crossed
the finish line 3/4-lengths ahead of Spit Curl Trey, who recovered to clinch second by a nose over the filly Weee. Tessta Rossa completed the quarter mile in :21.59 for a speed index of 96.
