RIDE TV, the only high-definition cable network dedicated to horses, focuses in on the All American Futurity
and the three-year-old horses they were preparing for the NCHA Futurity.
“There was so much interest in knowing what these horses did at the Futurity that we continued to follow them through their four- year-old year,” Morris said. “We traveled to all the events, highlighting the finals, and did some specials on some of the horses.”
The show was such a hit that Morris knew he wanted to do more. His vision was to develop programming that was 100 percent dedicated
to horses – something that had never been done before. Through his network of contacts, he
got an audience with Michael Fletcher, a media executive who has been actively involved for
25 years as an investor and leader of a variety
of media companies including cable television networks, television production companies,
radio stations, and a satellite uplink facility. Together, they started building the dream.
“What we’ve got is a network that’s very similar to watching A&E, Discovery, History, and ESPN just all the stories have an equine twist to them,” Morris said. “It just really resonated well with the cable and satellite guys. People are coming to us with these great stories and we have an outlet for them.”
RIDE TV launched in October of 2014
in selected local cable markets and via live streaming on the Internet. By 2015, the lifestyle station was available internationally and on DISH Network. And in September 2015, Ruidoso Downs’ owner R.D. Hubbard joined RIDE TV as an investor and shareholder.
“Ruidoso Downs and RIDE TV is a winning combination,” Hubbard said. “We offer the
highest quality Quarter Horse racing and we are proud to offer our racing to RIDE TV’s audience.”
That partnership paved the way for RIDE
TV to air “Thousand to One,” which is produced by F2 Media. The show joins RIDE TV’s
original programming lineup, which includes
highly entertaining reality shows, talk shows, documentaries, horse competitions, children’s programming, movies, and live events. With a broad variety of lifestyle content, RIDE TV appeals to both passionate horse owners and general audiences who love unique and fascinating entertainment.
RIDE TV is currently available on DISH Network and DISH Latino (channel 248), Armstrong (channels 235,489), Windstream Communications (channels 674, 1674), Century Link (channels 669, 1669) and Shentel (channel 370).
