SOUND OF CANDY

True to her style of running and responding to the public’s preference, the three-year- old filly Sound Of Candy won with authority the third version of the Clasico in honor of Don Felix Bañuelos Jimenez, which involved eight U.S. bred individuals at a distance of 400 yards and a prize of 241,500 pesos (US $14,289 approximately).
Sound Of Candy started from position 7, and from the first start she pointed toward her left flank, bothering Jess Curl My Way (#6), following her trajectory towards the inside of the track which was controlled by her rider Eddi Cuellar, eventually straightening up but with a comfortable lead over the group. She crossed the finish line by 1 1/2-lengths in front of Bp Southern Wave (#5), stopping the clock at 19.53 seconds (SI 97).
After the race, there was a protest and investigation for the incident, but the verdict of the stewardess upheld the original order and Team Haras Ixbiapan accompanied the winner and her rider into the winner’s circle.
It is the third consecutive Clasico win in 2015 for Sound Of Candy, who was bred by Carl C. Pevehouse, the same breeder of Jess Good Candy, unbeaten in his first 4 starts and winner of the 2015 All American Futurity. Previously, Sound Of Candy won the AQHA Derby Challenge of Mexico and the Mexican Derby, this being her fifth win in 10 performances.
Soung Of Candy is a daughter of Red Storm Cat out of the mare Connemara Girl, by Corona Cartel.
In second came Bp Southern Wave (Wave Carver - Southern Fling) with Jose Angel Ambrosio up for Cuadra Zamarrero and trainer Everardo Flores. This red bay won the Clasico Easily A Possum this season.
Honey Sweet (Tr Dasher - Meadowist) took third place under the guidance of Jose Trinidad Diaz for Cuadra Bastida. She was saddled by trainer Javier Lopez Chavez.
Followed by Weee (Foose – Special Ela), Jess Curl My Way (Spit Curl Jess – Jess Wanna Fly), Keepnit Big Time (Big Time Favorite Keep Themusicplaying), Blowin And Goin (Royal Shake Em – Power Edge) & Perla Tapatía (Millennium Cartel – A Regal Legacy).

apuntó hacia su flanco izqui-
erdo, incomodando a Jess
Curl My Way (6), siguiendo
su trayectoria hacia el interior de la pista la cual fue controlada por Eddi Cuéllar, su jinete, hasta enderezarla pero siempre con una ventaja holgada sobre el grupo, para cruzar la meta a 1 largo y 1⁄2 de Bp Southern Wave (5), dete- niendo el reloj en 19.53 segundos (SI 97).
Al finalizar la carrera hubo protesta y averiguación por el incidente mencionado, pero el veredicto de los jueces ratificó la llegada original y el equipo de Haras Ixbiapan acompañó a la ganadora y su jinete en el círculo de ganadores.
Es el tercer clásico consecutivo que gana en 2015 Sound Of Candy, que fue criada por Carl Pevehouse C, el mismo criador de Jess Good Candy, ganador del All American Futurity
2015, invicto en sus primeras cuatro salidas. Anteriormente, se acreditó el AQHA Derby Challenge de México y el Derby Mexicano, siendo
esta su quinta victoria en 10 actuaciones.
Es hija del semental Red Storm Cat en el vientre de Connemara Girl, por Corona Cartel.
En segundo lugar arribó Bp Southern Wave (Wave
Carver – Southern Fling), con José Ángel Ambrosio, para la Cuadra Zamarrero y el entrenador Everardo Flores. Este colorado es el ganador del Clásico Easily A Possum en la presente temporada.
