SIXTH ANNUAL
MEXICAN QUARTER HORSE BREEDERS’ CUP

Under the organization of the Mexican Association of Quarter Horse Breeders and Horsemen, A.C. (AMCCCCM) and
the sponsorship of Purina Mexico, the Sixth Quarter Horse Breeders’ Cup was held in honor of national producers of racing Quarter Horses.
There were 11 competitions under different conditions and prizes, where 92 Mexican breds participated, of which 67 (73%) are two year olds who starred in the race card, particularly
the Finals and Consolation of the Select Auction Futurity. The total purse paid in prizes for the 11 races was $8,668,640 pesos (approx. $456,387 US), a record figure and 18% higher than the one paid in 2017.
In the breeding division, Rodolfo Chávez Terrazas and Alfonso Patiño Martínez Aceves were highlighted, given their horses obtained two wins each. In the first case for Rodolfo Chávez Terrazas, were highlighted Vendaval
De Rabbits and Incomprendida; while in the second, Ramon Holland and Takin Six Glory defended the upbringing of Don Alfonso Patiño Martínez Aceves.
As owners, Rancho Las Gaviotas and Rancho Victoria, were awarded twice for the outstanding performance of their horses.
To start for Rancho Las Gaviotas, RG Black Diamond and Comopower entered the winner’s circle, adding points to the record of jockey Yair Daniel Báez Soto and trainer Efraín Anastasio Valdivia. From Rancho Victoria, the colts Ramon Holland and
Takin Six Glory, both manned by Alejandro Gómez and trained by Fernando Enríquez Márquez, shined.
The Cuadra and Stables Los Gavilanes, of Ramiro González Ozuna, took the honors with the foal LA Rapid King Judea, who was proclaimed winner of the Selecta Auction Futurity under the successful command of Francisco Javier Fernández, fighting a tough battle against the favorite AS Macho on a flooded track. The futurity was in honor of Luis Miguel Albores Gleason, also the breeder and owner of Reina de Reinas, winner of this race in 2017.
At the end of this section, we present a photo of each race and the award of the winner, as well as a summary with the most relevant data of the Sixth Quarter Horse Breeders’ Cup.
Due to its importance, the level of the participants and the prizes paid, the following is a chronicle of the following races: Luis Miguel Albores Gleason Classic, which corresponds to the finals of the Selecta Auction Futurity; Alberto Bailleres Classic, which is the consolation of
the aforementioned futurity; and the Francisco Pasquel Classic.

Bajo la organización de la Asociación Mexicana de Criadores y Caballistas de Caballos Cuarto de Milla, A. C. (AMCCCCM) y contando con el patrocinio de Purina México, se realizó la Sexta Copa Criadores en honor a productores nacionales de caballos de carreras de esa raza.
Fueron 11 competencias bajo distintas condiciones y premios, donde participaron 92 ejemplares mexicanos, de los cuales 67 (73%) son dos añeros quienes estelarizaron la función, particularmente la final y consolación del Futurity Subasta Selecta. La bolsa pagada en premios por las 11 carreras fue de $8’668,640 pesos ($456,387 US aproximadamente), cifra récord y superior en 18% a la pagada en 2017.
En la división de crianza destacó la de Rodolfo Chávez Terrazas y de Alfonso Patiño Martínez Aceves, cuyos productos obtuvieron dos triunfos cada uno. En el primer caso destacaron Vendaval de Rabbits e Incomprendida; mientras que en
el segundo, Ramon Holland y Takin Six Glory defendieron la crianza de Don Alfonso.
Como propietarios, Rancho Las Gaviotas
y Rancho Victoria, fueron premiados en dos ocasiones por la destacada actuación de sus ejemplares. Por el primero, pasaron al pódium
RG Black Diamond y Comopower, mismos que también sumaron puntos al récord del jinete Yair Daniel Báez Soto y del entrenador Efraín Anastasio Valdivia; por el Rancho Victoria brillaron el entero Ramon Holland y el potro Takin Six Glory, ambos tripulados por Alejandro Gómez y entrenados por Fernando Enríquez Márquez.
La Cuadra y criadero Los Gavilanes, de Ramiro González Ozuna, se llevó los honores con el potro LA Rapid King Judea, quien se proclamó campeón del Futurity Subasta Selecta, bajo el acertado mando de Francisco Javier Fernández, librando una dura batalla contra el favorito AS Macho, sobre pista encharcada. El futurity fue en honor a Luis Miguel Albores Gleason, igualmente criador y dueño de Reina de Reinas, campeona de este clásico en 2017.
Al final de esta sección se presenta la foto de cada carrera y de la premiación del ganador, así como un resumen con los datos más relevantes de la Sexta Copa Criadores Cuarto de Milla.

El Clásico Luis Miguel Albores Gleason, que corresponde a la final del Futurity Subasta Selecta; el Clásico Alberto Bailleres, que es la consolación del citado futurity; y el Clásico Francisco Pasquel.
