Velocidade Haras Prata Horse sale results
The 12th annual Velocidade Haras Prata & Convidados Horse Sale (Haras Prata & Guests Speed Sale) was held April 25 at the Jockey Club de Sorocaba in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 55 yearlings sold for nearly $6.5 million U.S. and an approximate
average of more than $118,000 U.S. The top seller at over $507,000 U.S. was Hip #39, La Tuty (Shazoom-First Regards, First Place Dash), a 2-year-old filly consigned by Haras Prata and purchased by Haras Portofino.
GuaPa Granite Wins GP Brazilian Futurity
Guapa Granite (Granite Lake-Swingin Jessie, Mr Jess Perry) won the Grade 1 GP Brazilian Futurity at the Jockey Club de Sorocaba in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on April 26. Guapa Granite won the race with a purse of approximately $150,000 U.S. under the guidance of jockey E. B. Melo for trainer J. Bosco. Guapa Granite is owned by Viva Bahia Ranch and was bred by Erico Braga from Haras Prata in Brazil.
In second was Entuerno Corona, by Corona For Me, and in third was Gorgeous Granite, by Granite Lake.
The GP Brazilian Futurity Consolation was won by Agile Granite (Granite Lake-Rosey Jet, Extra Easy). Agile Granite is owned by Stud Viva Bahia and was bred by Erico de Oliveira Braga.
