  DADDYS MONY
Daddys Mony, a sorrel daughter of Big Daddy Cartel racing for Julie A. Schoenhofer and Maricela Vasquez, led at every call in route to a neck victory in the March 5, $100,000 Sunburst Stakes (RG3) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old fillies at Sunland Park.
Prepped by Eric Valenzuela, Daddys Mony went 350 yards in :17.295 while recording a 103 speed index. Luis Flores-Garcia rode the sorrel filly.
Daddys Mony was bred by Mac and Janis Murray’s MJ Farms at Veguita, New Mexico, and she was purchased as a yearling by her owners
for $34,500 at the 2020 New Mexico-Bred Sale. The filly’s sire, Big Daddy Cartel, is a winning 13-year-old son of the Holland Ease stallion Corona Cartel. Racing at Ruidoso Downs
in 2011, Big Daddy Cartel earned $121,800
from five starts, and he was a finalist in the All American (G1) and Rainbow (G1) futurities.
A half-brother to stakes winner Racy La Jolla and Jess Racy Eyes, the dam of Grade 2 winner Fetching Beauty, Big Daddy Cartel has sired the earners of more than $13.2 million, including multiple graded stakes winner and 2017 All American Futurity runner-up Bigg Daddy, and multiple graded stakes winners Cat Daddys Lil Girl, Bigg Dee and Mamacita Cartel. The stallion is owned by and stands for a $5,500 fee at MJ Farms.
Daddys Mony’s dam, Jenna James, is an unplaced 12-year-old homebred daughter of the
Mr Jess Perry stallion Jesse James Jr. Daddys Mony is a full sister to 2019 New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG2) winner Honky Tonk Daddy and Jenna Cartel, a winning and stakes- placed Big Daddy Cartel mare.
Daddys Mony’s second dam, Wild Vines, is a homebred winning daughter of The Signature who foaled Wild Six, a half-sister to Jenna James who won the 2007 Rainbow (G1) and West Texas (G1) futurities and was a finalist
in that season’s All American Futurity (G1). The filly’s third dam, the homebred Dash Ta Fame mare Famous Chapelle, won the 1997 Utah Classic Futurity (RG1) at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City.
Daddys Mony traces back to her fifth
dam, Synchrosept, a multiple stakes winning Utah-bred daughter of the Cornish Prince (TB) stallion Zevi (TB).
Daddys Mony was stretching out in distance off of her wire-to-wire, 1 1/2-length victory in a 330-yard second-level allowance dash for New Mexico-bred 3-year-olds on February 19. All told, the filly has won two
of three starts -- including two of three at Sunland Park -- and the $60,000 winner’s share of the purse from her first lifetime stakes score pushed her earnings to $131,354.
Daddys Mony’s 2-year-old resume included
a third-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Flashin Fire, in the 400-yard, $320,000 Zia Futurity (RG1) at Ruidoso Downs.
Daddies Wish, the 2-1 favorite in the full field of 10, ran second and was followed by Jess Take Babe, Rock Solid Pebbles, Run Time, Regal Isabella, Renika, EBW Shesthatgirl, Antinori and Long Pour.
A $32,000 yearling purchase at the 2020 New Mexico-Bred Sale, Daddies Wish is a multiple stakes-placed gray Big Daddy Cartel filly owned by Julie Schoenhofer and Maricela Vasquez. Daddies Wish has won one of 12 races, and the $20,000 runner-up share of the Sunburst Stakes purse increased her bankroll to $94,227.
Jess Take Babe is a homebred daughter of the Chicks A Blazin stallion Jess A Chicks campaigned by Bob McClure. The sorrel filly has won one of 10 outs, and the $10,000 third- place share of the purse boosted her earnings to $32,878.
Daddys Mony’s winning connections include owners Julie Schoenhofer and Maricela Vasquez, trainer Eric Valenzuela and jockey Luis Flores-Garcia.
