That pedigree led to Jeff Pitcher recom- mending Wave Her Down to Sperry, who bought her for $80,000 at the sale from the Lazy E Ranch LLC consignment after Jones examined her. Last September, Sperry told Pitcher he was going to will Wave Her Down to the couple if he died. He passed away last December, five months before Wave Her Down made her racing debut.
Legacy Ranch Inc.’s homebred Wicked Affair (One Sweet Jess-Burr Cold) and Jesus Ayala finished second. Terry Knight trains the filly.
Paul Jones also trains Turner Farms’ homebred Jess Macho Corona (Corona Cartel-Jess Send Me), who finished third under Cesar DeAlba.
Dexxter (Corona Cartel-Tres Of Linda), Paddy Riley (Apollitical Jess-Dicey Riley), Mister Appolitical (Apollitical Jess-LR Miss Atina), Powerful Favorite (Favorite Cartel- Remember Me Rose), SC Money Maker (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Spit Curl Diva), Striver (Foose-Motherless), and Apollitical Pence (Apollitical Jess-Send City) completed the order of finish.
