Late fees have been waived for the APHA’s inaugural Claiming Futurity with $17,500

Speed News
This month has been an exciting one
for three Paints in particular. First, PHQ Goodbye Earl won the $34,100 PSBA Derby-G1 by 1/2-length. PHQ Goodbye Earl was heavily favored in the derby with odds
of 1-5 in the wagering. Along with jockey Jesus Salazar, PHQ Goodbye Earl covered the 400 yards of sloppy (sealed) track in :19.897 to earn $14,479. He is a 2014 sorrel solid Paint-bred by Awesome Chrome and out of Sayonara. PHQ Goodbye Earl was followed by DTL Fast Flyin Tex and DTL Batter Up, all of whom are trained by Dee Keener of Inola, Oklahoma.
Second, Dashin Turnpike earned an upset victory at the Victoria Ennis Memorial at Remington Park. With jockey Paul Nieto aboard, Dashin Turnpike earned $12,810 with
a time of :16.823. The team covered the 330 yards of sloppy (sealed) track and won by 1 3/4-lengths ahead of El Diablo Chicken and Im The Captain Now. It was the first win in two starts for the 2015 sorrel solid Paint-bred gelding, who is by Streak And Dash QH out of Flashy Turnpike. Dashin Turnpike is owned by Tommy Davenport of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and was bred by Marilyn Dover of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Third, Snow Chief Running set a new Remington Park track record for Paints at 550 yards, scoring his second straight win of the Remington Park season by covering the distace in :26.938. The previous record of :27.220 was set by Dos Of Joe Watson exactly five years prior. The $10,000-level claiming race for Paints and Appaloosas rewarded Snow Chief Running with $12,650. Snow Chief Running and jockey Rolando Raudales edged out Jungle Chick and Sturgis. Owned and bred by John Stephens of Porter, Oklahoma, and trained by Dee Keener of Inola, Oklahoma, Snow Chief Running is
a 2013 sorrel overo gelding by SM Country Snowman and out of Fierce Ladyliberty TB.
