                                AQHRA Sport Of Speed Sale Results
The Alberta Quarter Horse Racing Association (AQHRA) held their 2016 Sport of Speed Sale at the Lethbridge Exhibition Park in Alberta, Canada on Oct. 1. The $10,000 high seller was Otimberimfallninlove (First Timber- Burners Beauty, El Rey Burner), a yearling filly consigned by Wesley Oulton and purchased by Billie Bird. Only Quarter Horse yearlings that go through the Sport of Speed Sale are eligible to run in the 2017 Sport of Speed Futurity, and they are also eligible for the 2017 Canada Cup Futurity.

New Wyoming Barrel Program, Incentive
Cowboy State Productions is the new producer of the Red Desert Classic (RDC) and announced changes to the RDC and the Cowboy State Stallion Incentive (CSSI), previously known as the Red Desert Classic Stallion Incentive. Changes support and promote major Wyoming barrel futurities and include: offering increased incentives to stallion owners and eligible progeny; the introduction of the Cowboy State Triple Crown; and an optional stallion service auction. Great Falls 2017 Dates
Cascade County, Montana, commissioners approved an agreement that will add one day to the 2017 horse-racing season at Great Falls. Cascade County Montana ExpoPark will pay the Great Falls Turf Club, which runs the meet, $62,500 for purses for a five-day meet that will run from July 21-30, 2017.
EC Jet One To Stand At Granada Farms
2016 All American Derby-G1 winner EC Jet One (The Louisiana Cartel-Pretty Girl Perry, Mr Jess Perry) arrived at Granada Farms near Wheelock, Texas, on Oct. 19 to stand
his first year at stud in 2017. Trained by the nation’s current leading trainer Judd Kearl,
EC Jet One earned $1,370,385 winning 8 of 10 starts. The 2013 bay stallion also won this year’s Hialeah Derby and South Florida Derby. The introductory stud fee for EC Jet One has been set at $5,000.
National Youth Racing Experience Scholarship Winners
Ten youth competed at the 2016 American Quarter Horse Youth Association National Youth Racing Experience at Los Alamitos Race Course on Oct. 26-29 to earn college scholarships worth a total of $6,000. Erica Mehlhaus of Boone, Iowa, won the top prize of $3,000; in second earning $2,000 was Hunter Duncan of Terre Haute, Indiana;
and Katie Orth of Randall, Minnesota, was third with $1,000. Participants were selected through an application process for this all- expenses paid trip.
Jess Good Candy To Lazy E Ranch
2-time Champion Jess Good Candy
(Good Reason SA-Jess Send Candy, Mr Jess Perry) arrived at Lazy E Ranch in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to stand his first year at stud in 2017. Jess Good Candy won all 8 starts, includ- ing the All American Futurity-G1, and earned $2,014,703 for owner PV Quarter Horse Farm LLC and trainer Clinton Crawford. The stud fee for Jess Good Candy, who was bred by the late Carl Pevehouse, has been set at $9,500.
