Jackson Jumonville Passes Away
Jackson Jumonville, the 7-year-old son of Tres Jumonville and Stephanie Cook and the grandson of longtime Quarter Horse owners J.E. and Bunny Jumonville, passed away on Oct. 2. Jackson will provide new life through his organ donations. He is survived by his parents, John “Tres” Enoul Jumonville III and Stephanie Cook, sisters Brooke Hodges and Julia Elinore Jumonville, brothers John Enoul Jumonville IV and Joseph “Jet” Elijah Jumonville, and many other family members and friends.
Mark Guy Passes Away
Mark W. Guy passed away Aug. 24 at the age of 67 in Des Moines, Iowa. Guy loved horses and was,
a member of the
Iowa Quarter Horse
Racing Association,
the American
Quarter Horse
Association, and the
Colfax Saddle Club.
He served in the
U.S. Army during
the Vietnam War,
and was buried with
military rites. Guy
is survived by his wife, Marlys, daughter Dr. Shannon Guy, and many other family members and friends.
Alfred Riedel Passes Away

passed away on Sept. 29
at the age of 78. Among
others, Riedel bred graded

Swingin O Toole (Jody O Toole-Swingin Alive, Special Effort). Riedel is survived by his wife, Melba Jo Riedel, his six children, as well as many other family members and friends. Charles P. Copeland Dies
Retired horse trainer and jockey agent Charles Copeland, 80, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Aug. 21. Copeland, who was a U.S. Navy veteran of Korea, is survived by his two sons, Jeff Copeland and Darrell Wilke, along with many other family members and friends.
Toast To Dash Dies
Two-Time Champion Toast To Dash (Victory Dash-A Toast To Jet, Raise Your Glass TB) was euthanized Aug. 29 after a long battle with laminitis. Bred and raced by M.R. Longoria and trained by K.C. Carden, the 22-year-old stallion won 12 races and 6 stakes events, including four Graded futurities. Toast To Dash is the sire of over $20 million, includ- ing New Track Record setter/multiple stakes winner Angelas Toast ($612,789). Robert and Karen Nunnally owned Toast To Dash at the time of his passing.

of $256,786, including the Grade 3 All American Juvenile Invitational. Desirio, a top sire of 2016 two-year-old winners, has 147 starters and over $3 million in earn- ings. Desirio’s top performer is Champion Two-Year-Old Filly PJ Chick In Black si 101 ($652,081).
Albuquerque Downs Meet Leaders
The Albuquerque Downs ended their 60-day meet on Sept. 25, paying a track- record $1.25 million in purses on its closing weekend. The New Mexico track declared their meet leaders: the co-leading Quarter Horse owners by wins with 7 each were Cuadra San Juditas LLC and Eloy Humberto Pena; the leading owner by money was Javier Marquez’s J & M Racing and Farm; the leading trainer by wins with 16 was Ron Stephens, who was also the leading trainer by money earners;
and Jose Luis Enriquez was the leading jockey with 30 wins as well as the leading jockey by money earners.

The photo on page 207 shows a 22-year-old Go Man Go, Buena Suerte Ranch resident veterinarian Leonard Blach, Go Man Go owner Harriet Peckham, and Billy Durham. In 1959, Peckham purchased Go Man Go, who was bred and raced by J. B. Ferguson. Go Man Go (Top Deck TB-Lightfoot Sis, Very Wise TB) earned World Champion titles in 1955, 1956 and 1957, as well as five additional Champion titles during his six-year race career. Go Man Go set a 440-yard New World Record at Ruidoso Downs, a New Track Record at Los Alamitos for 400-yards, and another at Ruidoso Downs for 440-yards. Go Man Go was foaled in 1953 and won 27 races from 1955-1959. In all, he had a race record of 27(17)-9(7)-3(2) from 47 starts with $86,150 in lifetime earnings. Go Man Go is the sire of over $7.5 million in earnings, including two World Champions, Goetta and Go Josie Go; and five Champions, Duplicate Copy, Dynago Miss, Go Derussa Go, Steam To Go and Whataway To Go. He is also the broodmare sire of World Champion Kaweah Bar, and Champions Ettago Chickie, Go Together, Mr Kid Charge and Rocket Wrangler. This year’s Grade 1 Go Man Go Handicap was contested Sept. 4 and was won by World Champion Heza Dasha Fire.
