Farish has raced 165 stakes winners and
bred 300 stakes winners. The stallion roster at Lane’s End has included such great Champions as AP Indy.
Here is what Fredda had to say about Coup De Kas TB in their racing and breeding program. “Super Duper Couper was by Coup De Kas and he is why we like Coup De Kas mares. I had two daughters of Coup De Kas. PJ Chick In Black’s mama is out of
a daughter of Coup De Kas. I bought the mother of PJ Chick In Black over the phone through Clayton Keys at a Heritage Place Sale. She was bred to Corona Cocktail.”
PJ Chick In Black, the 2012 Champion Two-Year-Old Filly, was bred by Fredda. She won the 2012 Ruidoso Futurity-G1 and was trained by Carl for that win and her win in the New Mexico Spring Futurity-RG2. They sold this mare just prior to the All American Futurity trials.
PJ Chick In Black was sired by Desirio and out of Eddie Jym by Corona Cocktail. The dam of Eddie Jym was Minnie Coup by Coup De Kas TB. Here are some other Draper runners with ties to Coup De Kas TB: One And Onea, who is sired by Shoot No by Coup De Kas;
and Blackgold Chip, who is out of Blackgold Derrick by Shoot No, by Coup De Kas TB.
An added note: Desirio was trained by Carl. Desirio was purchased in 2003 as a yearling by the partnership of Willis/
 McBride/Criswell/Draper. J & L Stables would take over ownership in 2005.
This stallion won such races as the All American Juvenile Invitational-RG3, James Isaac Hobbs Stakes, and the Zia Park Championship.
One of the mares that came from Coup De Kas TB line was Super Perla Negra, a 1997 daughter of Super Duper Couper. Super Perla Negra was bred by Armando Orozco and purchased by the Drapers as a yearling. She would go to the track and finish first, second and third in 14 of her 34 starts with a racing ROM. She was a Superior Racehorse and her best speed index was a 101.

Fredda explained what happened
next when Super Perla Negra entered the broodmare band. “We bred Super Perla Negra to Genuine Strawfly, another horse we owned a part of and that is how we got Jenuine Joy, the dam of Imperial Eagle.”
Genuine Strawfly was bred by Ramich Farms of Topeka, Kansas. He was next owned by Jacque Tanton of Granbury, Texas and then bought by the partnership of Willis/McBride/ Criswell/Draper in 2000. He was transferred to the Willis/J McBride/E Criswell partners in 2001. He is currently owned by J & L Stables of Roswell, New Mexico.
When Carl started Genuine Strawfly, he found a difficult horse to deal with and he went unplaced in three starts at two. He was turned out and brought back at three to win the All American Derby-G1 and the Ruidoso Derby-G1. He would earn $181,091 with four wins and two seconds in 14 starts. Genuine Strawfly is the sire of horses that have won over $7 million. His leading money winners include One Diamond Kitty, winner of $559,302; Herekittykittykitty, winner of $556,824; and Genuine American, winner of $318,013. Genuine American
was owned at various times by Fredda and trained by Carl.
“We raised Jenuine Joy and she stayed
at Ray Willis’s farm. When Carl got her as
a two year old, he gave her one out, but she reared out of the gate and hurt her shoulder and that was a no race. So, I kept her here at Ruidoso Downs for about a year and a half. Her first start was in January of 2010 as a four year old.”
Fredda continued about Jenuine Joy as a racehorse, “Let me tell you she could run.
Fredda and her late husband Carl at the 2011 Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Sale. The Drapers made their first trip to the All American winner’s circle in 2003 with
DM Shicago, of whom Fredda was a partner with Don Moler and Carl was the trainer; and their second trip in 2007 with Heartswideopen, trained by Carl.
