Stanton Handicap
BEMUSED

Bemused is yet another stakes winner to come from Dr. Ed Allred’s prolific breeding program. As with many of his horses, she descends from a tal-
ented family, and she added black type of her own by capturing the Stanton Handicap for fillies & mares at Los Alamitos on Dec. 6.
In every one of her four previous victories, Bemused has broken on top and led throughout. She employed that strategy again, getting to the front
as soon as the gate opened. With Eulices Gomez aboard, she flew home to win the 300-yard event by a head in :15.621.
Jimmy Glenn Jr. trains Bemused for Allred. Prior to the Stanton, she had tried stakes competition only a couple of times before, getting her other wins in maiden, claiming, and allowance company.
Allred bred Bemused in California from 2003 Mistletoe Handicap winner Just Think, who also ran third in the 2002 PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity. The mare has produced nine winners from 12 starters, including multiple Grade 1 winner Check My Thoughts and stakes-placed Deep In Thought. Check My Thoughts earned $429,343 while win- ning such races as the 2012 Golden State Derby and Southern California Derby.
Bring Me Home (Stel Corona-Bring Me Joy) ran second with Alejandro Luna in the irons. Angela Aquino trains the 4-year-old filly for owner Marta Winslow. Bring Me Home has placed in three other stakes in 2015.
Paul Jones trains third-place Tallulah Moon (Corona Cartel-Splendifferous) for the Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP. Jose Alvarez rode the 3-year-old filly. In 2014, she won the John Deere Retama Park Juvenile Challenge .
Completing the field were Tres Magicals (Tres Seis-Fishers Proud) & Ima Foose (Foose-Sables Sixty Six).

King Rick Rack Stakes
EXECUTIVE TRUST

Executive Trust extended his win streak to three, as the gray four-year-old gelding rallied to win the $55,180 King Rick Rack Stakes at Zia Park on
Nov. 22 by 1-length.
Breaking fifth from the 5-hole, Executive Trust
went 4-wide in the turn and then drove past his rivals to score the victory.
Ridden by Ruby Gonzalez, Executive Trust cov- ered 870 yards in :44.847 and earned a career-best 101 speed index while defeating Fire On The Fly. Guadalupe Munoz Jr. prepped the gelding for owner Sherree Meridyth of Odessa, Texas.
All told, Executive Trust has won nine of 19 races, and the $33,000 winner’s share of the King Rick Rack Stakes purse pushes his bankroll to $214,017. The gelding has won four stakes, all at the 870 trip, including last year’s King Rick Rack Stakes.
Executive Trust was bred by Gus Barakis’ Scarlett Hill Farm at Weatherford, Texas. Executive Trust’s dam, Entrust, is a winning mare who has produced four winners from five starters, including Executive Trust’s full siblings Executive Brass, who won the 2012 Ruidoso Derby-G1, and Outta Texas, who ran second in last year’s All American Juvenile Invitational Stakes.
Second placed Fire On The Fly (Jet Cartel- Shades Of Pink) races for Bullard Farms. Esgar Ramirez rode the graded stakes-winning homebred for trainer Tommy Bullard.
Richard E. Ford’s Famous Edge Of Glory (One Famous Eagle-Shake Em Rita Ballou) finished third. Irwin Rosendo rode for trainer Lonnie Vaughn.
