Important - Notice on Double- Registered Horses
When registering a horse that can be double registered with the American Quarter Horse Association - the name you select must be a name that is available and acceptable in both the APHA and the AQHA registries if you plan to race the horse in races for both breeds. Horses with different names in these two registries
may not be eligible to race if the names are not exactly the same in both registries.
Dont forget to pay your Racing Owners Participation Fee!
A racing participation fee will be assessed annually to all recorded owners of race starters. Recorded owner of multiple horses will pay fee one time if the exact name is the same on all horses. Payment will be due on or before March 1 annually with late fees assessed after March
1. Non-payment of the owner participation fee will not reflect on a horse’s past performance
as records will be kept on all horses; however,
if a horse qualifies for any award they will be ineligible to receive if fee or subsequent late payment penalty has not been paid.
All racing year-end awards will be
awarded to the owner or lessee on record as of December 31 of the qualifying year, given the owner or lessee on record has paid all fees and is a current member (See fee schedule in front of Rule Book).

Speedhorse Photo Archive Answer
The photo on page 161 shows A Classic Dash (First Down Dash-Classic Canyon, Dusty Canyon TB) returning under 2015 Sam Thompson Memorial Award winner Eddie Garcia and escorted by owner Abigail Kawananakoa, a celebrated breeder of racing American Quarter Horses and a direct descendant of the Hawaiian royal family, after their wire-to-wire victory in the $1,937,035 All American Futurity-G1 at Ruidoso Downs on Sept. 6, 1993. Their team also included trainer Connie Hall, who in this race made history when she became the first female trainer to win the All American Futurity.
A Classic Dash was bred by H. G. Stevenson out of his multiple winner Classic Canyon. A Classic Dash was foaled in 1991, and the sorrel colt earned $1,078,617 for Kawananakoa, winning seven of his eight starts, including an additional stakes in the 1993 Dash For Cash Futurity-G1. He was also second in the California Sires’ Cup Futurity-RG3, which was his only loss. A Classic Dash retired after only one year of racing and went on to become a Champion Sire. The stallion is the sire of nearly $7 million, including 2003 Champion Aged Mare Royaltime Classic.
