Champion of Champions when one opened
at the last minute. He made the last start of his career in the Championship at Sunland Park-G1. With 2013 earnings of $84,231, Hez Our Secret was named the 2013 Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association’s Champion Aged Stallion.
At the time of his retirement, Hez Our Secret had made the finals of 10 Grade 1 races and banked $887,426. His success on the track is a testament to his breeding, which represents some of the greatest horses and horsemen in Quarter Horse racing history.
Hez Our Secret was bred by Vessels Stallion Farm and was a member of one of the last crops of Vessels-bred horses to be born before Scoop Vessels’ untimely passing in 2010. The stallion is a son of Vessels’ star stallion First Down Dash, who also passed in 2010.
On the bottom side, Hez Our Secret is out of the winning stakes-placed Separatist mare Secret Separation ($18,928). She has produced 20 foals, with 11 winners from 14 starters.
Hez Our Secret is by far her richest son or daughter, though she has also foaled full brother Nosecretwhosefirst si 95 ($85,000), half-brother Secretly Famous si 89, a stakes winner of $35,252, and half-sister Sunbeamssecretbeauty si 96, a stakes-placed winner of $20,625.
Secret Separation si 96 ($18,928) is a stakes-placed winner and one of 12 winners from 19 starters for her dam, Dicey Secret
si 95 ($203,666). Sired by Raise A Secret, Dicey Secret is a multiple graded stakes winner and the dam of All American Futurity-G1 winner No Secrets Here si 104 ($1,637,095), stakes-placed winner Betsomemoneyhoney si 87 ($54,155), Thaddeus Green si 98 ($34,247), and others.
