Gerald Reed trains and co-owns second- placed Lota Shakin Goin On (Lota PYC-DM Hot Hot Hot). Whiting Ranch is Reed’s partner in the gelding. Ricky Ramirez rode Lota Shakin Goin On, who in his only previous start had won his Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred
Futurity-RG1 trial wire-to-wire by 1 3/4-lengths and qualified the second fastest.
Sam Green’s homebred Uptowne Babe (Mr Jess Perry-Ms Southern Dynasty) ran third after qualifying the fastest with a wire-to-wire 2 3/4-length victory. The filly had previously finished second in a maiden race at Remington Park. Rolando Raudales rode Uptowne Babe for trainer Guillermo Valdivia.
Rounding out the order of finish were A Tres Of Sign (Tres Seis-First Painted Sign), Celebriti (Corona Cartel-First To Celebrate), Chilitos (Apollitical Jess-Mary Me Anna), Liarliar Hocksonfire
(Kiss My Hocks-Blazin Fire), and Relentless Jessie (Hes Relentless-Jess A Queen). Daisy Cakes and Tren De Carga were scratched.
