ROCKIN RED RHYTHM

Nearly two full days of trials to the Heritage Place Futurity-G1 ensured that not every trial winner would qualify. Rockin Red Rhythm won his
trial, but didn’t make the cut so instead he put on an excellent performance in winning the $128,000 Heritage Place Juvenile Stakes on May 29.
With regular rider Juan Pulido in the irons, Rockin Red Rhythm got away from the gate extremely well, effectively ending the race, especially with bumping among rivals to his outside. Rockin Red Rhythm stayed in front easily throughout the 350 yards, winning by 1-length in :17.541.
Edelmiro Carrizales trains Rockin Red Rhythm for HV Ranch LLC. With the wire-to-wire Juvenile win, Rockin Red Rhythm kept his record perfect, with three wins in three starts.
Juliana Hawn Holt bred Rockin Red Rhythm in Texas from her homebred Love Samba, an earner of $184,142 who qualified for the 2009 All American Futurity-G1, 2009 Rainbow Futurity-G1, and 2010 Rainbow Derby-G1. Love Samba has produced six starters, all winners.
Bill Price’s homebred BP CK Eagle (Moonin The Eagle-CC Policy) finished second. James Flores rode the filly for trainer Dee Keener.
Abel Flores’ homebred Olivia De Capo (Capo De Capi-Zooming For First) ran third with Jimmy Brooks aboard. Jason Olmstead trains the gelding, who won his trial.

The First) finished fourth and fifth. Reimagine (Freighttrain B-Splendifferous) finished sixth, but was disqualified and placed eighth. That moved Sippin Hayden (A Revenant-Entrust) from seventh to sixth and Jesst For Speed (Apollitical Jess-Shaded In Speed) from eighth to seventh. Rocket Seventeen and Trapper Jon were scratched.

LIVE MOONSHINE

Asharp break from his rail post helped Live Moonshine score a wire-to-wire, 1 1/2-length victory in the 440-yard National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum Stakes-G1 for Paints and Appaloosas at Remington Park on May 29.
Trained by Matt Whitekiller for owners Dan and Kaye Jones of Kemp, Texas, Live Moonshine made his quarter-mile trip in :21.640 under Cody Smith. The homebred son of the Cartel Success stallion CRM Livewire earned the $26,100 winner’s share of the $45,350 purse and a 92 speed index.
The 2020 World Champion, Champion 2
Year Old & Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding, Live Moonshine was stretching out in distance off a wire- to-wire win in the 400-yard $30,000 Mister Lewie Memorial-G1 on May 14. The gelding has won 14 of 24 starts, including eight of 14 at Remington Park, and he has banked $236,273. Live Moonshine’s
nine career stakes wins include last year’s National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum Stakes.
The black gelding was bred in Texas, and he is out of PRP Sedona Sunset, a homebred daughter of the First Down Dash stallion Awesome Chrome. Live Moonshine traces back to his 3rd dam, Hot Blooded Wrangler, who won the 1990 Shebester Derby-G3.
Live Moonshine returned a $2.60 win mutuel as the 3-10 favorite. Bully Pulpit (CRM Livewire-Judys Apollo) finished second and earned $9,700 for own- ers Dan and Kaye Jones. Javier Hernandez-Gallardo rode the sorrel 6-year-old gelding for trainer Matt Whitekiller.
Queen For Cash (Hes Relentless-Ivory Queen) ran third under Daniel Torres for owner Gary Vaughan and trainer Carlos Ruiz. Mammy Jammer (CRM Livewire-Dashin DD) and Giorgis Prize (Giorgino-Eye On The Prize) completed the order of finish. Southern Electric was scratched.
Sam Houston Classic-G2
BLACK CAZADOR

The $112,000 Grade 2 Sam Houston Classic was run in classic Quarter Horse fashion. Straight
as an arrow and the field could have been covered with a blanket at the wire. Six out of seven horses ran a 105 speed index or better. The stakes was held at Sam Houston Race Park on a cloudy evening over a fast sealed track.
Black Cazador broke from the 7-post and he had ground to make up. With a lefthanded tap here and a tap there, Black Cazador and rider J. Ramirez won by a neck stopping the clock in :21.466 to earn a 109 speed index. Including the first place check worth $67,200, the black gelding now has a total bankroll worth $176,796. His team includes owner/breeder Raul Rubalcava and trainer Saul Ramirez Jr.
Raul Rubalcava bred Black Cazador out of unraced Miracle Hock. She has produced three winners from five starters. Black Cazador is her first stakes winner. His second dam is Delta Downs Texas Futurity winner Sharber, who has produced one win- ner from five starters.
Stone Cold Leader (Brookstone Bay-Sheza Classy Leader) finished second under Bryan Candanosa for owner Patrick Richardson and trainer Eric Long. The gelding won the Miss Polly Stakes-G3, Delta 550 Stakes and Leverne Perry Memorial last year.
Moment Of Fury (Furyofthewind-Moment Of Epiphany) and jockey Rolando Cabrere were third for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr. and trainer Hector R. Alcala. The gelding won the Harris County Stakes earlier this year.
Katchi Dat (Favorite Cartel-Mr Rob This Corona) was fourth and was followed by Inaugurator (Apollitical Jess-Famous Phoebe), DM La Jolla Cartel (Favorite Cartel-Mary La Jolla) and HH Gailforce (Freighttrain B-Open My Prize). Cajun King, Hot Dam Bam A Lam and Jess B One were all scratched.
