FL Lady Bug Stakes-RG3 Div. 2
IM A FANCEE CHIK
by Michael Compton
Im A Fancee Chik notched her second stakes win in a row and stretched her win streak to three with an impressive score in division two of the $84,800 FL
Lady Bug Stakes-RG3 at Remington Park on May 22. With Mario Delgado aboard for trainer Clinton
Crawford, Im A Fancee Chik broke on top and grabbed the early lead in the 330-yard test. The gray filly dueled early with Shy Kisser and then held at bay a challenge from even-money race favorite Em High Country in the late stages to post the win by 3/4-length at the finish. Im A Fancee Chik received every call and stopped the timer in :16.985, slightly slower than the first division was decided, earning an 87 speed index.
The $48,480 winner’s share of the purse increased her bankroll to $100,330 for owners Danny and Dennis Salisbury. It was the second stakes win for Im A Fancee Chik, who captured the Laico Bird Stakes in her previous outing. Im A Fancee Chik was bred by Danny Salisbury and she is out of the win- ning Thoroughbred mare Dixie Marrone.
Runner-up Em High Country (Docs Best Cartel- Johns Party Girl) also finished second in his previous outing in the Remington Park Futurity-RG1. The gelding is owned by Efrain Mendez and is trained by Tammy Johnson. Shy Kisser (Kiss My Hocks-Shyann La Jolla), with Gonzalo Gutierrez aboard for owner Cuadra Chihuahua LLC and trainer Oscar Nunez, held third after showing speed at the start. It was the third straight stakes placing for the sorrel filly, who finished third in the Oklahoma Futurity-G2 and third in the Laico Bird Stakes behind Im a Fancee Chik. Followed by B Me (Tres Seis-Glory Rider), Value Bet (Docs Best Card-Shanachee), Ground Wire (Prized Wagon-Holden My Ground), Runawave Wagon (Duponte-Tygers Painted Girl), Ms Prize Fancy (PYC Paint Your Wagon-First Prize Fancy) & Oro Cartel (BV Travelin Soldier-Gold Ounce).

by Tracy Gantz
Matt and Bendi Dunn do well with their home- breds, and another one joined the ranks of stakes winners when Whizkey Glasses captured the $57,000
Easy Jet Stakes-RG3 at Remington Park on May 29. The second choice in the 350-yard Easy Jet,
Whizkey Glasses broke fourth under jockey James Flores and quickly sped to the front. He held onto his advantage to score by a 1/2-length in :17.574.
Monty Arrossa trains Whizkey Glasses for the Dunns, who breed and race in the name of their Dunn Ranch. Whizkey Glasses won a maiden race in his racing debut at Remington on April 25. He then finished second in his trial for the Heritage Place Futurity-G1.
Dunn Ranch bred Whizkey Glasses in Oklahoma from Marys Southernpolicy, a winning Shazoom mare bred and raced by Bill Price. Marys Southernpolicy has produced 15 starters, all win- ners—four of them stakes winners and five of them stakes-placed.
Pevs Jukebox (FDD Dynasty-Ima Lazie Too), owned by Regina Laymon and trained by her husband, Kenny, finished second. Cristian Esqueda rode the gelding, who was coming off two consecutive wins.
Victory Farms’ homebred VF Kiss Me Quick (Kiss My Hocks-Wheely Quick) ran third under jockey Justine Klaiber for trainer Eddie D. Willis. The filly also finished third in the Remington Park Juvenile Stakes.

Jack Brooks Stakes
BPMYSOUTHERNDYNASTY
by John Moorehouse
The Jack Brooks Stakes came down to a blanket finish involving all nine horses in the field. BPmysoutherndynasty, a 13-1 longshot, emerged on top to win the 350-yard $57,000 stakes held May 22 at Remington Park.
Elizabeth Logan owns BPmysoutherndynasty, a 3-year-old gelding who got to the winner’s circle for the first time this year and now holds 4 wins in 14 starts. This marked the 2nd victory in stakes company for the gelding, who also prevailed in last year’s running of the Cherokee Nation Stakes.
BPmysoutherndynasty was out good from the 4 gate, moving into the lead by the 1st call. He main- tained a narrow advantage at every remaining junc- ture. It took a photo finish review to sort out the order. The margins were narrow—5 heads, 2 necks, and a nose, going from first to last. BPmysoutherndynasty was declared the winner by a head.
Trained by Dee Keener, BPmysoutherndynasty clocked out at :17.761 for an 83 speed index, also bringing in a $31,800 payday to push his earn-
ings into 6 figures at $130,143. Rolando Raudales was aboard, scoring 1 of the 4 victories he tallied
on the May 22 Remington card. Bill Price bred BPmysoutherndynasty out of BP Southern Mariah, a 2006 mare whom Price also owns.
Diamond Oaks Racing LLC’s Jess Good Enough (Jess Good Candy-Fly On Candy Tree) was 2nd under Jorge Torres for trainer Clinton Crawford. Keener also trains 3rd placed O Donovan Rossa (Apollitical Jess-Shanachee) for owners Loyd J. Yother & J. Garvan Kelly. Daniel Torres was up. Followed by Facing The Fire (Valiant Hero-DM Sashay N Fire), Dalts Fancy Pistol (Im A Fancy PYC-Dalts Pistol), Purty Darn Quick (Jess Louisiana Blue-Now Margaret), Best Of You (Apollitical Jess-Foo Who), Bran Nu Dae (Freighttrain B-The Dashing Attitude) & Not A Secret (Hez Our Secret-Call As Maybe).
