JESS MY HOCKS

Jess My Hocks scored his third stakes victory in the $104,800 Grade 1 Leo Stakes at Remington Park on May 1.
The four-year-old sorrel gelding broke from
the 1-post in front. By the half-way point, jockey Agustin Silva had Jess My Hocks at a comfortable lead. With Danjer bearing down on them, the duo held on to cross the finish line a nose in front in
a wire-to-wire performance. Trained by Michelle Hurdle, Jess My Hocks competed the 400 yards in :19.824, posting an 87 speed index.
Jess My Hocks scored the $64,638 winner’s share, boosting his total earnings to $260,193. Owned and bred by Tom & Kathleen McNally, the gelding has also won the 2020 AQHA Derby Challenge Championship-G3 and Will Rogers Downs Derby Challenge.
The McNally’s bred Jess My Hocks out of mul- tiple winner Jess Charlena, dam of 100% winners from three starters. Jess My Hocks is her second stakes winner beside Charlies Fury, her top earner.
Cody Smith gave a strong performance to try and get to the front, and that effort helped Danjer (FDD Dynasty-Shez Jess Toxic) bank second place money. His connections include owner Dean Frey Downtime Enterprises LLC and Billy Smith and trainer Dean Frey. The gelding earned the AQHA Supreme Race Horse title in 2020.
Multiple stakes winner Mi Amor Secreto (The Louisiana Cartel-Streakin In Secret) finished third for owner Carol Ann Mays and trainer Fidencio Jimenez. Juan Pulido was handling the reins.
Followed by Midday News (FDD Dynasty- Summer Love Song), Uncle Eds Idea (Dominyun- Mystical Eye), Apollitical Papa (Apollitical Jess-Sissys Tres Girl), Zoomn On Bye (Mezoomn-Eyesa Chickin It Out) & DQ’d from 7th to last No Mires A La Luna (First Moonflash-Don’t Looke Ethel).

CAT DADDYS LIL GIRL

Cat Daddys Lil Girl, a homebred daughter of
Big Daddy Cartel racing for Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vasquez, was a prompt 4-5 favorite in the
$128,240 Junos Request Stakes-G1 for distaffers at Remington Park on May 29.
Trained by Jason Giles and handled locally by veteran horseman John Hammes, Cat Daddys Lil Girl went 400 yards in :19.695 under jockey Noe Garcia Jr. while defeating Macs Lady M by a neck. The 5-year-old gray mare earned a 90 speed index and $76,476 from the stakes-record purse.
Cat Daddys Lil Girl was stretching out in distance off of her head victory in the 350-yard Easy Date Stakes for fillies and mares on April 17.
“She found a second gear and said, ‘bye bye,’” said Garcia after the Junos Request Stakes. “We won easier today, and I think she has a lot more in the tank. She’s going to have a good career.”
Cat Daddys Lil Girl was bred in New Mexico out of stakes winner Girlonthego, who won the
Zia Futurity-RG1. She has produced two winners from five starters, including multiple stakes winner Ryansmanonthemoon.
Macs Lady M (Favorite Cartel-Annas Babe)
was 2nd for Jorge Magallanes. The 4-year-old mare was ridden by Juan Pulido for trainer Edelmiro Carrizales. Paint Me Tres (Tres Seis-Paint Me Anywhere) came in 3rd for Summer Hill Farm LLC. Jorge Torres rode the homebred filly for trainer Clint Crawford. Followed by Kiss Thru Fire (Walk Thru Fire-Fredaville), Ritas Back On Track (Freighttrain B-Perry Story), Amandas Flashy (First Moonflash- Holland Fire), BV Sheslikethewind (Apollitical Jess- Corona Cayenne), Magnificat (Coronado Cartel-Que Magnifique), Kieva (Apollitical Jess-AMG Six Point Three), Relentless Jessie (Hes Relentless-Jess A Queen) & Diamond And A Half (First Moonflash- Cuz Shez Famous). Ratification was scratched.
Mister Lewie P&A Memorial-G1
LIVE MOONSHINE

Making the second start of his 5-year-old season, Live Moonshine sprinted to a 3/4-length vic- tory in the $31,000 Mister Lewie Memorial-G1 at
Remington Park on May 14.
Live Moonshine went 400 yards in :19.876 while
racing against a reported 13-mph head wind. Cody Smith rode the homebred CRM Livewire gelding for owners Dan and Kaye Jones of Kemp, Texas, and trainer Matt Whitekiller.
Live Moonshine was bred in Texas, and he was coming off of a third-place finish, 2 1/4-lengths behind winner Southern Electric, in the Paul Harber Memorial on April 9. The gelding is out of PRP Sedona Sunset, a homebred Awesome Chrome mare.
Raced in Oklahoma and Texas, Live Moonshine has won 13 of 23 starts, and the $17,784 winner’s share of the purse from his eighth stakes victory increased his earnings to $210,173. Live Moonshine was the2020 APHA World Champion, 2018 World Champion Running Paint Horse, Champion Two Year Old and Champion Two-Year-Old Gelding.
2019 World Champion Southern Electric APHA (CRM Livewire-Ze Southern Girl QH) was second and brought his bankroll to $252,749 from 21 races for owners Dan & Kaye Jones. Andrew Samaniego rode the homebred 4-year-old gelding for trainer Matt Whitekiller. Break Away James APHA (Ivory James QH-Friona) finished third for owners Mickey Johnson and Stacy Charette-Hill, who also trained the homebred 3-year-old gelding. Benito Baca rode Break Away James. Followed by Mammy Jammer APHA (CRM Livewire-Dashin DD), Bully Pulpit APHA (CRM Livewire-Judys Apollo), Queen For Cash ApHC (Hes Relentless QH-Ivory Queen), Jess Cruzin ApHC (Hes Relentless QH-Jess Streakin), MH Famous Moonshine APHA (Readi To Be Famous-Gorgeous Judy) and Snow Advisory APHA (Lota PYC QH-Snow Warning).
