ASTICA

The 2015 Champion 3-Year-Old Filly, Astica demolished the field with a big win in
the 400-yard New Mexico Fillies & Mares Championship-RG1 at Zia Park on Nov. 23.
The sorrel filly broke on top from the 4-gate and was ahead by 2-lengths at the first call. With L. Martinez aboard for the trip, they widened the gap to finish 3 1/4-lengths in front at the wire.
The duo was never headed and stopped the timer at :19.452, earning a 96 speed index. Astica earned the first place check worth $84,000 and boosted
her bankroll to $392,923. Her connections include owner MJ Farms and trainer Wesley Giles. This win is the fifth stakes victory for the filly.
Astica was bred by MJ Farms in New Mexico out of Champion 3-Year-Old Filly/California Hi-Point 3-Year-Old Filly/2-time stakes winner Alice K White, who won the Golden State Derby-G1. The mare has produced 100% money earners from 11 starters, including stakes placed White Russian and Tuscan Redd. New Track Record setter Astica is her top earner and first stakes winner.
Get Down Bambi (Get Down Perry-Chilly Force) finished second for owner/trainer Jamie G. Aldavaz, Sr. The mare had the veteran J. R. Valenzuela in the saddle.
Sweet Splenda (Send Me Cartel-Apollo’s Lady TB) finished third for owner Eloy Humberto Pena and trainer Adam Tapia. Adrian Ramos was han- dling the reins.
Teana Fay (Winners Version-Thirty Fourth Street), Chickaloni (Jess A Chicks-Machi Moon), B I Corona (Southern Corona-B I Durun), My Royal Highness (First Moonflash-Easily A Royal) and JJ Jessies Girl (Jess A Chicks-Sugar Bee Banks) completed the order of finish. CD Tight Rope, Princess Jesse, Shes A Fighter, and Watch For Corona were scratched from the race.
King Rick Rack Stakes

Competitors must wait one more year for another shot at the $50,000 King Rick Rack Stakes for three-year-olds and up at Zia Park, as Executive Trust
took the title for the third year running on Nov. 23. The 5-year-old grey gelding has been unbeatable in
this stakes race. The 2015 Champion Distance Horse and now five-time 870-yard stakes winner has been dominant at the distance at Zia Park, recording four of his five stakes wins there.
Executive Trust started in the middle of the field from the two-gate under Ruby Gonzalez. The pair steadily gained ground on the leaders, including favorite Kingsbury. Executive Trust showed great finishing speed after angling out and found himself up in time for a head victory. The pair finished the 2016 King Rick Rack in :46.399, earning an 84 speed index.
The $30,000 winner’s share of the purse bumped Executive Trust’s earnings up to an impressive $263,138 for owner Sherree Meridyth and trainer Guadalupe Munoz, Jr.
Scarlett Hill Farm, Inc. bred Executive Trust out of 2-time winner Entrust. She has produced four win- ners from six starters, including top earner/Grade 1 winner Executive Brass and stakes placed Outta Texas.
Kingsbury (FDD Dynasty-Corona Lane) fin- ished second under Francisco Giles for owners Javier Beltran and Tommy Galvez and trainer Tony Sedillo. EC Cartel (Tinys First Corona-Twayna Too) finished third under Donell Blake for owner Alejandra Carrion and trainer Judd Kearl.
Swiss Chris (Swissle Stick TB-Ace Crystal Charm), Ocean Smoke (Ocean Runaway-Smokin TB), Fire On The Fly (Jet Cartel-Shades of Pink TB), Admiral Zoomwalt (Shazoom-Tellin It All), and Streakin Zoomer (Shazoom-A Streakin Mate) completed the order of finish. Coronas Boy and JMF Shazoomer scratched.

Seeyalateralligator showed plenty of speed en route to victory in the $85,000 Jess Burner Memorial Handicap-RG1 at Sunland Park on Dec. 17.
A finalist in last year’s running of the Jess
Burner Memorial, Seeyalateralligator made a greatly improved time. With Salvador Martinez aboard, the pair led by a head at the first call and widened their advantage at each remaining call, sporting a 1-length margin as they hit the wire. Trained by Wes Giles, Seeyalateralligator finished in :19.111, earning a 97 speed index.
Seeyalateralligator notched his second victory in stakes company for owners Jason Giles and Ezra Elton Lee. The bay gelding collected a $51,000 pay- day that pushed his career earnings to $301,347.
Seeyalateralligator won last year’s NMHBA Stakes-RG2 and entered this race coming off a runner-up finish in the Namehimastreaker New Mexico Classic Championship-RG1.
Seeyalateralligator was bred by Carolyn Giles out of unraced Stars In My Eye. She has produced 100% money earners from four starters, includ- ing graded stakes winner Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle. Seeyalateralligator is her top earner.
Justified By Chicks (Chicks A Blazin-Jesstifiable Debt) finished second under Esgar Ramirez for owner Juan Poblano and trainer Raul Vega. Play Misty Foreme (Jesse James Jr-Arbor Mist) finished third under Jose Enriquez for owner Robert Smith and trainer Jose Muela.
Klassic Strawfly (Genuine Strawfly-A Classic Song), Dungarees Version (Winners Version-Forty One Special), Major Moonflash (First Moonflash- Prima LD), Booyah Bay (Brookstone Bay-Jess Brenda) Osbaldo (Jesse James Jr-Shes So Blazin) Fire Stones (Brookstone Bay-Silver Impulse) and Cinco Menudos (Jesse James Jr-Uno Menudo) completed the field. Es Meyer scratched.
