LQHBA Breeders’ Invit. Stakes
SHATTO STOLI

Shatto Stoli earned his first stakes victory in the $40,000 LQHBA Invitational Breeders’ Stakes at Evangeline Downs on Nov. 19. The race is held for two year olds that were nominated, but did not qualify to the LQHBA Futurity-RG1.
Shatto Stoli broke from the outside 10-post, received the first, the last, and every other call in the 400-yard event. The gelding finished 3/4-length in front of the field, stopping the clock at :19.828 to earn a 94 speed index.
Antonio Alberto rode him well and that effort earned first place money worth $24,000, which ups the geldings bankroll to $40,325 and marks his second career win out of nine races. Shatto Stoli finished second in his Oct. 28 LQHBA Breeders’ Futurity trial, but did not qualify. His previous victory was a
1 1/2-length win in his maiden out. Shatto Stoli is owned/trained by Rosendo Valdez.
Shatto Stoli was bred by Juan San Miguel Jr. in Louisiana out of winner Scoopie Coochie, dam of four starters including Mr Jet Perry. Shatto Stoli is her top earner and first stakes winner.
TF Eyesa Firefighter (Fighter On Fire-Eyes R Special) finished second under J. Ramirez for owner by La Herradura Racing, LLC and trainer Erasmo Hernandez. Runaway Balance (Sir Runaway Dash- Special Balance) finished third for owner Ten For Ten, LLC and trainer Michael Taylor. Joe Badilla, Jr. was in the saddle.
Completing the field were Lovin That Sizzle (Sizzlin Cartel-Jess Love), Lil Bro Big Streak (Jet Black Patriot-Annas Streakin Dash), Tee Ray (Tee Cos- Fleet Rayburn TB), Dashing Bye Presence (Dashin Bye-Provocative Presence), Litemupwithcharm (Sizzlin Cartel-Grace Filled Charm), Hoochie
Corona (Coronas Leaving You-Ha Chi Mama) and DQ’d from 6th to 10th TF Ms Perrys Runaway (Sir Runaway Dash-Dashadee).
IP 870 Stakes
EXECUTIVE TRUST

Perseverance is the key to winning many a race, and Executive Trust showed great endurance in the IP 870 Stakes at Evangeline Downs on Dec. 17. The gray gelding broke well from the 2-gate and
was in third at the first call. Reaching second in the stretch, Executive Trust and rider Ruby Gonzalez wore down Eyesa Shoofly Dandy and took the lead to finish 1 1/4-lengths in front.
The pair stopped the timer in :46.944, which was good for an 83 speed index. The $12,000 win- ner’s share of the $20,450 purse boosted the gelding’s lifetime earnings to $275,138.
Executive Trust was the 2015 Champion Distance Horse. He previously won the King Rick Rack Stakes (for three consecutive years) and the 2015 Master Salls Handicap and Herman Jefferson Stakes. Executive Trust was coming off his most recent victory in this year’s King Rick Rack Stakes.
Executive Trust is owned by Sherree Meridyth and trained by Guadalupe Munoz Jr. The gelding was bred in Texas by Scarlett Hill Farm Inc. out of 2-time winner Entrust. The mare has produced six start-
ers, including additional stakes winner/top earner Executive Brass and stakes placed Outta Texas.
Eyesa Shoofly Dandy (Gold Medal Jess-Miss Sound Viking) had the early lead and was able to hang on for second place under Donell Blake for owner Curtis Smith and Steve A. Holt and trainer Trey Ellis.
Jessa Little Rusty (Mr Jess Perry-Rustys Quickid) made a great rush to pocket third place money for owner Louis Howard and trainer John Stinebaugh. Gilbert Ortiz was in the irons.
Streak Of Music (Miracle Streak-Wire Me Music TB), Im Mighty Fast (Mighty Corona- Sheza Fast Doll), Bet I Make U Famous (One Famous Eagle-Lone Bet), Dark Bark (Oak Tree Special-Trio Gal TB) and Game Own (Game Patriot-My Own Fortune) completed the field.
Sam’s Town Stakes

Coming off a win in the Oct. 29 Ned Goutierrez Memorial Stakes at Evangeline Downs, This Wagons Okay proved best in the
350-yard Sam’s Town Stakes at the Louisiana track on Dec. 17.
This Wagons Okay received the fourth call from the 1-hole. With rider Antonio Alberto aboard, they immediately took the lead by the first call and con- fidently handled the field to finish a head in front at the wire. They stopped the clock at :17.484, good for a 99 speed index.
The $12,000 winner’s share of the $20,300 purse boosted the gelding’s earnings to $173,930. He has now won three out of four since Javier Contreras has taken over as trainer for owner Rene Amaro, and has a race record of 10(4)-3(1)-0 from 22 starts including additional stakes wins in the Great Lakes Stakes and Altoona Derby.
This Wagons Okay was bred in Oklahoma by Michael A. Pohl out of New Track Record setter This Candys Okay, who won the 2007 Black Gold Futurity Championship-RG3 and Black Gold 300 Futurity. The mare has produced 100% money earn- ers/winners from five starters. This Wagons Okay is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Special Jess (Spit Curl Jess-Special Anywhere) was 2nd under Damian Martinez for owner Hugo Morales & trainer Adrian Huitron. The gelding was coming off a win in the Boyd Morris Memorial Handicap. A Royal Country Man (Country Chicks Man-A Royal Goddess) was 3rd for owner J. Santos Espinoza and trainer Jose Espinoza. Luis Vivanco was up. The gelding won his last out in a claiming race. Followed by Louisiana Legends (Jet Black Patriot-Sheza Cash Dasher), KW Cowboy (Mighty Corona-Tres Dia Noche), The Golden Bowl (Mr Eye Opener-First Dashin Bye), Soraya Seis (Tres Seis-Shez Loaded), Going Viral (Brimmerton-All N The Jeans) & Ojo De Rey (Mr Eye Opener-Joyalty). Scoopies Leaving You was scratched.
