AQRA Turf Paradise Futurity
COWBOYS DYNASTY

Fastest qualifier from the Nov. 20 trials, Cowboys Dynasty was the race favorite in the finals of the AQRA Turf Paradise Futurity that were held Dec. 11.
Cowboys Dynasty stepped away third from the six-post and gained the lead in the stretch.
Jesus Osuna rode the colt well and they edged clear to cross the wire 1 1/4-length in front. Cowboys Dynasty stopped the clock in :19.829 for the 400- yards and earned a career-high 96 speed index.
The colt, who broke his maiden in the AQRA Turf Paradise Derby trials, deposited the $29,854 winner’s share of the purse to boost his bankroll to $36,346 for owner/trainer Alvaro Monteverde.
Cowboys Dynasty was bred by Corner K Quarter Horses LLC in Arizona and becomes the second stakes winner out of New Track Record Setter Mexican Radio, who won the 2002 Desert Classic Futurity. The mare has produced 100% money earners from seven starters, including top earner/graded stakes winner Ebony Eyes.
Discrete (TR Dasher-Secret Goer) finished sec- ond under David Frisbee. The filly’s team includes owner Ramon Sevastian Chavarria and trainer Candelario Villamar. Discrete was the seventh fastest qualifier to the finals.
Second fastest qualifier Riot Act (TR Dasher- Penny Pritzi) finished third under Alonso Rivera. The gelding’s connections include owners Cervando Garcia Solis and Jesus Garcia Solis, and trainer Cervando Solis.
La Mos PYC (PYC Paint Your Wagon-La Mos Chingono), Movin The Doe (Maknmoves-Bundle Doe), What Up Buttercup (Tac It Like A Man-Fifty Party Night), Truvia (One Famous Eagle-One Sweet Dash), Countless Ways (TR Dasher-Million Ways), Princess Merida (Royaltys Choice-Fed X Dash) and One Sweet Dasher (One Sweet Jess-Zoomdasher) completed the order of finish.

odds-on choice in the field of ten 3 year olds.
May Be Fantastic SA, the fastest qualifier from
the Nov. 19 trials after a 3 1/2-lenght victory, shot to the front of the pack early in the finals and steadily drew clear in the lane under Martin Osuna.
May Be Fantastic SA crossed the wire 1 1/2-lengths in front of second-placed finisher Fighter Gone Wild, stopping the timer in a lively :19.710
in the initial stakes tally of his career. The winner’s final clocking earned a 99 speed index.
Owned by Orlando Guerrero and trained by Ubaldo Guerrero, May Be Fantastic SA improved his lifetime record to 10-4(1)-0-3(2) and his total bankroll to $37,431 with the addition of the $20,401 winner’s share. May Be Fantastic SA also finished third in this year’s President’s Open Derby and Arapahoe Derby Challenge.

Captain On Takeoff took off like a jet in the Mike Hastings Memorial at Turf Paradise on Dec. 11.
He was in first place at the break and, when it came time to land, he crossed the wire 3/4-length in front. Martin Osuna was sitting quiet for the first part of the race and held well to ensure the victory. A small head wind had little effect on Captain On Takeoff, who was never headed in the contest. He clocked in with a running time of :19.699 for the 400-yards to earn a 99 speed index.
Captain On Takeoff took off with the $12,499 first place check, boosting his earnings to $54,929. The gelding was coming off a win in the Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes, and he also finished sec- ond in this year’s Sonoita Ranchers Bonus Challenge.
Captain On Takeoff is owned by Joel Merino Gamez and trained by Charles Acosta. Bred in Texas by Burnett Ranches LLC, Captain On Takeoff is the first stakes winner out of lightly raced Takeoff Royally. The mare has produced 100% money earners from 14 starters. Her top earner is Take Off Jess, who finished second in the 2004 All American Futurity-G1.
