Another of the “young stakes” in which just few individuals run, this was the fourth time that it had been held and this year saw 7 enrolled three-year-old and older participants
of Mexican breeding. The race was measured at 330 yards and disputed with a purse of $184,100 pesos (approximately $8,873 US). Emphasis was on the presence of three individuals entered by Cuadra Vázquez that were progeny of stallions of Cuadra La Presita and/or Dr. Anselmo Aguilar where they were bred, referring in particular to Solo Heart, La Chemita, and Flyin Danny, who, competing under the same interests, put them at an advantage in the wagering windows.
The big favorite in the bets, however, was Senor Cawboy, who was bred by the aforemen- tioned Cuadra La Presita and/or Dr. Anselmo Aguilar and who closed with odds of 0.40. When the formalities had been completed, the entrants took their starting positions and soon moved into action. At the start, La Chemita stumbled and threw her rider Alejandro Gómez and followed the group alone. Senor Cawboy immediately took over the center of the track and commandeered the race under the direction of José Ángel Ambrosio, He colt crossed the wire 1-length ahead of Mojito Limes. For this he only needed :16.39, which gives him a speed index of 93.
The three-year-old colt came into the race from a victory in the Salvador Oñate Classic, an open race for three-year-old Mexicans, as well as a second place in the Mexican Derby, just to mention his achievements in 2016. Senor Cawboy is owned by Cuadra San Pedro PZH and trained by José Ravel Baltazar Aguilar.
The colt, who was raised in Sinaloa by Cuadra La Presita, is by Senior Solo and out of Takin Cash SLC, by Takin On The Cash. For this triumph he added $110,000 pesos ($5,324 US), and is a winner of $1.6 million pesos in global figures.
Héctor Roldán Arreola attended the presen- tation of awards to the winners, representing his honored father Héctor Roldán Espinoza.
Second place went to the sorrel Mojito Limes (Skyy On Ice - Special Orphan), well rid- den by Martín Hernández Bautista for Cuadra El Zurco and trainer Efrén Esqueda Ortiz. The colt was bred by Efrén García Ramírez.
Solo Heart (Senior Solo - Break Your Heart) took third place assisted by Moisés González García for Cuadra Vázquez and trainer José Ravel Baltazar Aguilar. The geld- ing was bred by Anselmo Aguilar.

Este es otro de los “clásicos jóvenes” a los que aún concurren pocos ejemplares. Es la cuarta vez que se realiza y a él fueron inscritos 7 partic- ipantes de tres años y mayores de crianza mexi- cana, para medirse en 330 yardas y disputar una bolsa de $184,100 pesos (8,873 pesos). Destacó la presencia de los tres ejemplares inscritos por la Cuadra Vázquez, hijos de sementales de Cuadra La Presita y/o Dr. Anselmo Aguilar donde fueron criados. Me refiero a Solo Heart, La Chemita y Flyin Danny, que al competir bajo un mismo interés los ponía en ventaja en las ventanillas de apuesta.
Sin embargo, el gran favorito en las apu- estas fue Senor Cawboy, que tuvo la misma cuna que los antes mencionados, cerrando con momio de 0.40. Cumplidas las formalidades correspondientes, tomaron sus posiciones de partida y pronto entraron en acción. Al primer impulso, La Chemita tropezó aparatosamente y tiró al jinete (Alejandro Gómez), siguiendo sola al grupo. En este destacó de inmediato
el alazán Senor Cawboy, que se adueñó del centro de la pista y asumió el mando de la carrera, donde se mantuvo bajo la dirección
de José Ángel Ambrosio, cruzando la meta 1 largo adelante de Mojito Limes. Para ello solo
necesitó 16.39 segundos, que le reporta un SI de 93.
El potro alazán de tres años viene de ganar el Clásico Salvador Oñate, en una car- rera abierta para mexicanos
de tres años, además de su segundo lugar en el Derby Mexicano, solo por mencionar sus logros en 2016. Es propiedad de la Cuadra San Pedro PZH y entrenado por José Ravel Baltazar Aguilar.
Fue criado en Sinaloa por Cuadra La Presita y es hijo de Senior Solo en Takin Cash SLC, por Takin On The Cash. Por este triunfo agregó solamente $110,000 pesos ($5,324 US aproximadamente), pero es un ejemplar gana- dor de $1.6 millones de pesos en cifras globales.

Para el segundo lugar arribó el alazán Mojito Limes (Skyy On Ice – Special Orphan), bien dirigido por Martín Hernández Bautista, para la Cuadra El Zurco y el entrenador Efrén Esqueda Ortiz. Es crianza de Efrén García Ramírez.
Solo Heart (Senior Solo – Break Your Heart), se quedó con el tercer lugar, asistido por Moisés González García, para la Cuadra Vázquez y el entrenador José Ravel Baltazar Aguilar. Fue criado por Anselmo Aguilar.
