Admiral Tom Leads Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Standings
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown awards two Champions – the Triple Crown Champion and the Triple Crown Hi- Point Champion. This year marks the seventh year of the Speedhorse sponsored event.
The first and second legs of the Triple Crown were won by different horses; therefore, we
will not have a Triple Crown Winner this year. The Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity will determine the Speedhorse Hi-Point Triple Crown Champion. To be eligible for the Hi-Point Champion award, horses must enter the trials to all three races and compete in two of three trials where they will receive points accord- ing to finishing positions in each race.
The first leg, the $254,300 Speedhorse Gra- ham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, was won by the Paint gelding Memories Of Lil Hero (Little PYC QH-Memories Of Texas, Texas Hero) at Remington Park on June 2. Admiral Tom finished second in this race, and Son Of A Grip was third.
The second leg was the $98,200 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Tulsa Fair Mead- ows on July 28 and was won by RP Live Wire Dash (CRM Livewire-RP Miss Reckess Dash, Reckless
Dash), but the Paint gelding did not enter the first leg, so is ineligible for the Triple Crown. Admiral Tom was second and El Fargo was third.
The third and final leg of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown is the $50,000 estimated Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Ap- paloosa Futurity-G1 to be run in October.
Currently, there are only three horses that are contenders for the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion award. Fol- lowing the second leg, the Appaloosa gelding Ad- miral Tom (Red Storm Cat QH-Eyesa Knockout, Mr Eye Opener QH) leads the point standings with 18, followed by the Paint gelding El Fargo (CRM Livewire-Make No Shadows, Oak Tree Special QH) with 12 points, and the Appaloosa gelding Teejus Livin (Cartel Success QH-Boppin JS Fastball, Whirling Fastball QH) with 9 points.
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion will receive a crystal trophy and additional awards, including a $5,000 cash bonus.
Good Luck to all participating in the final leg of the Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Ap- paloosa Futurity-G1!
