Dr. Steve Burns bred Trane Station V in California and consigned him to the 2022 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Valeriano purchased the colt at the sale for $130,000. Trane Station V is all Burns Ranch, being by Favorite Cartel, who stands there, and out of the Burns homebred mare Attack The Cartel.
Stakes winner Attack The Cartel has produced 10 winners from 13 starters.
Trane Station V is her fourth stakes winner, following Rumor Goin Round, On Our Way, and Attack The Wind. She is also the dam of stakes-placed Attacker and Attacked.
Jesus Ayala rode Five Bar Supreme (Five Bar Cartel-Luv Supreme) to second for trainer Lindolfo Diaz and owner Jorge
Carmona. Five Bar Supreme won the 2023 Los Alamitos Wild West Futurity-G3 and Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass. The $298,975 runner-up share increased his total earnings to $375,787.
Optical Illusion (Seperate Interest- Sweetest Illusion), piloted by Victor Salazar, trained by Paul Jones, and owned by Jim Schlagel, finished third. The gelding has two wins and three seconds in eight prior starts.
Completing the field were Checkn Cartel (Favorite Cartel-Checkn Fire), Apollitical Open MRL (Apollitical
Jess-In The Open), Unrelentless (Hes Relentless-Painted Wine Wagon), Southern Divine (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Marys Southernpolicy), AB Wow (Apollitical Blood-Shyann Cash), and Think Again Kev (KVN Corona-Budder Think Twice). AB Seis Corazones was scratched.
