Evangeline Downs Futurity-G3
JLA INDY ROGUE

JLA Indy Rogue closed out her freshman season on the racetrack in celebratory fashion, proving a game winner of the $315,080 Evangeline Downs Futurity-G3 at Evangeline Downs on Dec. 30.
The two-year-old daughter of Heza Fast Rogue entered the 400-yard main event as the third-fastest qualifier following a 1-length score in her Dec. 3 trial, which was accomplished in at time of :19.93.
With regular rider Russell Leblanc in the irons, JLA Indy Rogue broke sharply on top from the five-gate in the finals. The brown filly was in third at the first call nd pressed the early leaders in the contest’s early stages.
She was still in third at the top of the stretch and battled determinedly to the wire, gamely pushing past race favorite and fastest qualifier Mr Spud close to home and holding off Patriot Fireworks to score by a nose in an exciting 3-horse blanket finish.
