                                 In registering the first stakes win of her career, JLA Indy Rogue covered the distance in :19.818 over a fast track, earning a speed index of 90 for trainer Robert Meche.
Owned by Karen Lynn McKinnon and Annette Faul, JLA Indy Rogue is now a winner in four of eight lifetime starts. The $157,540 winner’s share of the Evangeline Downs Futurity purse increased the filly’s bankroll to $200,380.
JLA Indy Rogue broke her maiden at Delta Downs in July and followed that effort with an allowance race victory at Delta Downs in her next outing.
Bred in Louisiana by Joanie Gore, JLA Indy Rogue is produced from the winning Promissory TB mare French Indy TB.
She has produced six winners from eight starters. JLA Indy Rogue is her first stakes winner.
Her second dam is unraced French Darling, who has produced 100% winners from five starters, including stakes placed Miss Helen Jay, who finished third in the 2011 Louisiana Futurity at Fair Grounds.
Runner-up Patriot Fireworks (Jet
Black Patriot-Jess Caroline), third to Mr Spud in his trial heat, just missed under jockey Arturo Alvarez. The bay gelding is
a homebred for Lester Colomb Jr. and is conditioned by Kenneth Weeks. All told, Patriot Fireworks concluded his juvenile season with a mark of 8-1-3-1. After picking up $53,564 for his second place Evangeline
Downs Futurity finish, Patriot Fireworks now has earnings of $65,382.
Christropher Villatoro’s Mr Spud (The Louisiana Cartel-Ace Winema) finished third after pressing the issue throughout. Ridden by Everardo Rodriguez, Mr Spud was denied a fourth consecutive victory after annexing the Firecracker Futurity-G2 in July and capturing his trial heat by neck. In addition to his five lifetime wins, Mr Spud also finished second in the Old South Futurity at Delta Downs last
June. Adding $31,508 to his coffers, Mr Spud now has earnings of $209,329. Randy King bred the bay gelding in Texas.
