Sir Louisiana Dash is joined in the winner’s circle by his winning connections, including owner Rogelio Marquez Jr., trainer Hector Alcala and jockey David Alvarez.
after a fourth-place finish in his Nov. 27 trial, is trained by Hector Alcala.
The win improved his overall mark to 4 wins in 11 starts, and the $96,384 winner’s share of the purse increased his total bankroll to $406,715.
In addition to this latest stakes success, Sir Louisiana Dash has also annexed the 2020 Laddie Futurity-RG2. He was third in the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Stakes-RG2 last year, and third in this year’s Mid-City Stakes-RG3.
Bred in Louisiana by Tate Farms, Sir Louisiana Dash is out of the unraced Separatist mare Ms Proverbial.
Runner-up El Camino CL (Heza Fast Dash-Eying Miss Perry) vied early and held second while proving no match for the winner. The sorrel colt is owned by Delfino Lozano and is trained by Jose Sanchez III. El Camino CL previously won the 2020 Mardi Gras Futurity-G2
Black Blood (Apollitical Blood-Black Rosalita) and jockey Gilbert Ortiz
were slow into stride and finished third for owner Rayne Knight and trainer Michael Zingelmann. Black Blood
last year was a finalist in the LQHBA Louisiana Million Futurity-RG1 and Laddie Futurity Stakes-RG2. This year he was third in the Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Derby-RG3 and fourth in the Mid-City Stakes-RG3.
Fireintheblood (Apollitical Blood-E Catching Fire), Apollitical High (Apollitical Blood-Toastem Honi), Supa Five Bar (Five Bar Cartel-Shesa La Lassie), Hes Opentosecrets (Open Me a Corona-Oak Tree Secret), Runaway Fast Dash (Sir Runaway Dash-Fast Girl Friend), Jessalilbit (One Sweet Jess-Princess Lil Bit), and He B Swift (Freighttrain B-Eye Be Swift) followed.
