  In his previous start, Instygator won the 2021 All American Derby-G1 in wire-to- wire style and by 1 1/4-lengths for a 107 speed index. He also finished second in that year’s Heritage Place Derby-G2, and in the 2020 Texas Classic Futurity-G1 and All American Futurity-G1. He was also third in the 2020 Heritage Place Futurity-G1.
Bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox, Instygator is out of the mare Eye Popping. She is a 2-time winner who was second
in the QHRAI Derby and All American Congress Maturity, and third in the Indiana Grand QHRAIDerby. She has produced 13 foals, and Instygator is her best product.
Since Heath Taylor has taken over the
conditioning, Empressum (Apollitical Jess-Crazy Down Corona) has won 9 out of 11 races, and Instygator beat him in two of those races. Empressum is owned and was bred by Steve A. Holt and Jeff D. Jones. Rodrigo Vallejo is his regular pilot.
Apollitical Papa (Apollitical Jess-Sissys Tres Girl) ran a steady and even race to bank third place money. Connections include owners Bob McClure and Sissie McClure. Fred Danley is in charge of saddling and Noe Garcia was in the irons.
The field finished like this: KJ Frankie B (Apollitical Jess-Xquizit), A Dangerous Flash (First Moonflash-Flame N Flash) & Don Chuy C (First Moonflash-Jess Say Bye Bye). Relentlessly was scratched.
