CURLS JOYFUL WAGON SI 96, $215,209
While she is no stranger to stakes events, Curls Joyful Wagon is still searching for that first stakes victory. Having been a finalist in the All American Futurity-G1 among other Grade 1 events, Curls Joyful Wagon came into the All American Oaks trials prepared. Despite a bump in a crowded start, the filly was able to snag second place to secure the sixth fastest qualifying time. Curls Joyful Wagon is a homebred for Martin Stacy. The John Stinebaugh trainee had Bryan Candanosa in the irons, who has ridden the filly in her last three starts.
FEARLESS MOON SI 96, $184,029
Already starting 2023 off with a third place finish in the Rainbow Oaks-G1 and being a finalist in the Los Alamitos Oaks-G1, Fearless Moon is searching for her first stakes victory. Sergio Becerra Jr. has ridden the filly in her last five starts and in the All American Oaks trials, they broke in third and quickly grabbed the lead. They were never headed during the 440 yards, crossing the line a neck in front, securing the seventh spot on the qualifying ladder.
CARTEL KISSES SI 97, $434,967
Multiple stakes winner Cartel Kisses has made five starts this season, hitting the board in four of them, including a victory in the Los Alamitos Oaks-G1. Ridden by regular rider Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo, Cartel Kisses had a slow start coming out of the gate in her All American Oaks trial, but grabbed the lead about midway down the lane. They crossed the finish line with a clear 1-length lead to grab the eighth spot on the qualifiers list. Cartel Kisses was bred by Flag Ranch LLC and is owned by Larry and Bobbie Rice and trained by M. Heath Taylor.
POLITICAL ROYALTY SI 88, $142,662
Already winning one of her four starts in 2023, Political Royalty has her sights set on a stakes win. The filly finished third in last year’s Golden State Million Futurity-G1. During the All American Oaks, Political Royalty broke in a distant eighth, but moved into second position quickly and dueled throughout the 440 yards. Political Royalty crossed the line in second for the ninth qualifying spot. The filly was bred by McColee Lane & Livestock LLC and is owned by William E. Smith. The M. Heath Taylor trainee had Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo in the irons.
APOLLITICAL CHICK V SI 91, $82,705
Apollitical Chick V in 2022 had a second place in the Heritage Place Juvenile and a fourth in the Black Gold Fillies Futurity. She has come into 2023 searching for her first stakes win. In her All American Oaks trial, Apollitical Chick V broke in third under Ricky Ramirez, who has ridden the filly in her last three starts. Despite moving into second place briefly, the filly finished in third and was able to grab the final qualifying spot. Apollitical Chick V was bred by Valeriano Racing Stables LLC and is owned by Raymond Merrill and Gregory Cullum and trained by Clinton Crawford.
