by Tracy Gantz
One Famous Icon, a full brother to Champion One Famous Eagle, is making a name for him- self in Arizona. One Famous Icon most recently won
the $33,440 AQRA Turf Paradise Derby on Dec. 22. Sent away as the 7-2 third choice despite setting the fastest qualifying time in the Dec. 1 trials, One Famous
Icon broke in second under jockey Mark Jasso and went to the lead. He edged away to win by 3/4-length in :19.484 for 400 yards, posting a 99 speed index.
Rigoberto Guillen trains One Famous Icon for owner Yuriana Ramirez. One Famous Icon earlier ran second in 2018 AQRA Spring Fling Futurity and third in 2019 AQRA President’s Fall Derby. The $16,720 winner’s share from this purse boosted the colt’s earnings to $46,890.

by John Moorehouse

Division 1 of the $15,000 Harrah’s Dash on Jan. 4.
J & J Stables LLC owns Fantasticazoom Jr, who
went off as the post-time favorite at nearly even money. The stallion now holds five victories in 10 life- time starts and earned black type in what marked his third straight win to continue a streak that dates back to last Oct. in an allowance at Evangeline Downs.
Ricardo Hernandez, Jr., was aboard as the stallion broke on top from the 9-post and led for the entirety of the 250-yard sprint. Fantasticazoom Jr sported a 1/2-length separation by the time he hit the wire, finishing in :13.195 to post a 95 speed index and bring home a $9,000 payday that increased his total earnings to $30,170.
Jose Carrizales trains Fantasticazoom Jr and obtained his trainer license last year and currently is fielding 30 horses at the Louisiana Downs meet.

Harrah’s Dash Div. 2
PEYTONS LAST DASH
by John Moorehouse
Asix-month layoff and a change in ownership must have been the break that Peytons Last Dash needed. The four-year-old gelding returned from his hiatus to tally his first win in stakes company, taking the second division of the $15,000 Harrah’s Dash on Jan. 4 at Louisiana Downs.
Rosendo Valdez owns Peytons Last Dash, whom he claimed for $10,000 last July at Delta Downs. This marked the gelding’s first out since the change, as well as his stakes debut.
Ray Mayo, who trains Peytons Last Dash, also logged his first-ever stakes victory with this result. Jockey John Hamilton was aboard as the gelding broke from the 4-post, leading by a head going into the stretch before pulling away during the final yards to win by a 1/2-length margin. The 250-yard trip took :13.174 and produced a 95 speed index.
Peytons Last Dash now has four wins in 10 total starts, with the $9,000 payday from this race improv- ing his cumulative earnings to $46,890.
JoBaya Foreman bred Peytons Last Dash out of winner Im Game Lets Play, who finished third in the Party Girl Stakes. She has produced one winner from two starters.
SS Classyjess (Rock Solid Jess-High Class Broad), the post-time favorite, finished second for owner Edgar Rosales and trainer Jose Carrizales. Juan Garcia did the riding.
Robi Meche owns and trains Hot Prize (Fast Prize Dash-Hot Dare), who took third by a neck under Bryan Candanosa.
Rounding out the order of finish, VF My Favorite Chick (Favorite Cartel-Perrys Folly) was fourth, followed by Jus To Kool (First N Kool-Jeryls Joy), Miss Mighty Pizazz (Mighty B Valiant-Rare Pizazz), TDZ Dash Of Jes (Heza Fast Dash-Jes
A Game), Kool Volcom (Volcom-Triffle) and Jess Glance (Mr Jess Perry-Love At First Glance).
