Five-year-old gelding Bodacious Eagle (One Famous Eagle-Bodacious Dream, Corona Cartel) became
an AQHA Supreme Race Horse, joining 38 other horses since 2002 and the 110th horse in total to earn the title. Bred by La Feliz Montana Ranch and owned by AQHA past president Johnny Trotter, Bodacious Eagle finished the necessary criteria to earn the award when he won his tenth career victory in the Leo Stakes-G1 on April 1 at Remington Park.

More than 32 physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses and staff from various departments within Lincoln County Medical Center provided preventive health screenings to approximately 50 Ruidoso Downs Race Track barn area workers. The staff checked things such as BMI, cholesterol and blood pressure, and also provided diabetic food screenings and nutritional education.

This Candys Awesome (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Jess Send Candy, Mr Jess Perry) died. The
2011 bay mare earned $434,265, winning 11 starts, including the Juno’s Request Stakes-G2, Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby-RG3, Decketta Stakes-G3, Higheasterjet Handicap-G3, and the Easy Date Handicap. She also set a New Track Record at Remington Park in 2014, covering 330-yards in :16.344. This Candys Awesome was the 2014 OQHRA Champion Three Year Old and the 2016 OQHRA Oklahoma Owned Aged Mare. The mare was owned by PV Quarter Horses LLC, and she led the procession at the funeral for her breeder Carl Pevehouse.

Delta Downs ended their 2017 Quarter Horse meet and named their meet leaders: Rogelio Marquez Jr. was the leading owner, Kenneth Roberts Sr. was the leading trainer, and John Hamilton was the leading jockey.

Harold Bray passed away at the age of 90. He and his wife, Louise, bred and owned many stakes horses, including Chick Called Happy and Miss Six Moons.

Leading broodmare Dash Master Miss (Dash For Destiny-Uno Mas Tiempo, Master Hand TB) was laid to rest at Scarlett Hill Farms in Weatherford, Texas. The 28-year-old mare earned $249,430 winning 6 stakes races. She received the AQHA Dam of Distinction honor in 2014 as the dam of 2-time Champion Significant Speed, 9-time stakes winner Push The Pace, and many others.
Harold Bray passed away at the age of 90.
The Corbin Planning and Zoning Commission in Kentucky during a special meeting approved a new development plat for a proposed Quarter Horse track. Although there is no schedule for construction, plans include a track, barn facilities, entertainment center, and grandstand. The 149-acre property also has
six parcels for commercial development and property allocated for a hotel. The project is expected to create an estimated 2,000 jobs and $10 million in tax revenue.

AQHA past president Peter J. Cofrancesco III, 45, passed away. Cofrancesco was elected to
the AQHA Executive Committee in 2008 and served as president from 2011-2012, and was influential in forming the World Conformation Horse Association. Just months after leaving the AQHA presidency, he returned to the World Show ring to earn two World Champion titles. Cofrancesco, who showed a total of 18 World Champions and 14 Reserve World Champion since 1991, was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in March.

Los Alamitos Race Course held a moment of silence to honor 30-year track executive Brad McKinzie, who passed away at 62. McKinzie served as the vice president and general manager of the Los Alamitos Racing Association since 2014. He and partner Michael Lyon started
the Finish Line Self Insurance Group, which provides worker’s compensation coverage for 99% of California Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse jockeys, exercise riders, and grooms.
