Dr. Steve Burns’ homebred Just Walk By (Walk Thru Fire-Babe On The Fly) ran second as a 37-1 longshot. Eduardo Nicasio piloted the filly for trainer Mike Casselman. Just Walk By was coming off back-to-back victories, in a maiden race and in her futurity trial.
Second-choice and second-fastest quali- fier The Revenant (Favorite Cartel-Remember Me Rose) finished third with Cesar DeAlba aboard. John Cooper trains the gelding for owner Ron Hartley. The Revenant has won two races, and he ran third in the Governor’s Cup Futurity-G2.
Completing the field were Hard Headed Chick (Hart Hitting-Chickitita), Wild Wonder (Stel Corona-California Wildfire), La Rusa (Walk Thru Fire-Corona Fria), Apollitical Stone (Apollitical Jess-La Fantacia Sone), Rockin Asteroid (Parsons Rock-Five Star Cruise TB) and King Of Appeals MV (Tres Seis-Queen Of Appeals).
