AQRA President’s Fall Futurity

Jazzy Icon came from behind to break his maiden and take his first stakes victory in the AQRA President’s Fall Futurity at Turf Paradise on Oct. 29. The chestnut gelding broke even from the 6-post for his first ever stakes start. The gelding edged into fourth under Jorge Bourdieu by first call and showed signs of contention as he built speed and momentum down the track. The stretch appeared even more promising with the pair in third and driving after the leaders. They rushed to the wire, passed all rivals, and surprised the favorites, winning by 3/4-length. Jazzy Icon crossed the line in :17.816 and earned a career best 92 speed index.
Jazzy Icon ran away with the $23,370 winner’s share of the purse for owner Martha Wells and trainer Matthew Fales. The gelding’s lifetime earn- ings leaped to a total of $26,116. He qualified to the AQRA President’s Open Fall Futurity on Oct. 15 with a 3rd-place finish for the 4th fastest time.

out of winner Icebreaker. The chestnut mare has produced 100% winners from two foals, including multiple stakes placed Frozen Icon and stakes winner Jazzy Icon, who is her top earner.
Dominate This (Dominyun-Valiant Red Vixen) broke in and was bumped under Martin Osuna. The gelding was 2nd for Angel Hernandez & Jorge Herrera and trainer Jose Badilla Sr. Skinny Kyni (Winners Version-Miss Mischievous) came in 3rd under
Eddie Garcia for A & C Racing and Roping and trainer Tyler Gibbs. Followed by Champion Winner (Winners Version-Champion Ways), Red Beer (Coronas Leaving You-Sister Shelley Rose), Winners Runaway (Winners Version-A Fast Runaway), Nicos Favoritecartel (Favorite Cartel-Corona Countess), El Remmy (Mr Corona Cash-Thriller Nights), Arrow of Cupid (Foose-Rita Alto), and Dublin Dynamite (Mr Corona Cash-Corona Cruise).

TEXAS TORNADOE

Texas Tornadoe swept away her competition for her third consecutive win and her first stakes victory in the $23,655 AQRA Futurity at Turf Paradise on Oct. 29.
The brown filly became a stakes winner in her sec- ond attempt in stakes competition of the 2017 season. Texas Tornadoe broke on top from the 2-post in this event and strode away from the field in a rush. At first call, she stepped into a 2 1/2-lengths lead over her clos- est rivals and continued her dominance at the stretch under Andres Osuna, maintaining a healthy 2-length advantage. The pair drew off and drifted late, but held fast for a comfortable wire-to-wire 1 3/4-lengths win. Texas Tornadoe covered the fast track in :17.723 and earned a career high 95 speed index. The filly earned the winner’s share, which totaled $11,828, and pushed her total earnings to $22,205. She is owned by Angel Valenzuela and trained by Raul Valenzuela.
Ralph and Carolyn Fales bred the filly out of Thoroughbred mare Its A Dry Heat TB. The winning stakes finalist has produced 100% QH earners from 7 starters, including West/SW Hi-Point 3-Year-Old Colt/ West/SW Hi-Point Aged Stallion Heat Warning, who is also a 4-time stakes winner & her top earner. Her other runners include stakes winner Macy Bay and stakes placers Mayhem Mae & One Hot Dejon.
Tanyah Tucker (Texas Icon-Phenomena) was 2nd under Jorge Bourdieu for Ralph & Carolyn Fales
and trainer Matthew Fales. Marshall Valentine (The Bounty Man-Terri Tazer) was 3rd under David Reyes- Frisby for Fernando Canales and trainer Eloy Mendoza. Followed by My Pistolita (Pistoli-Tribal Force TB), Pirteville Cartel (Flair To Dancing-Buds Pretty In Blue), Dashingtexas (Texas Icon-Dashing Firmly), Desert Scorpion (Righter-Chase This Fly), Miss First N Wild (First N Wild-Wicked Colors), Shakin Cash (The Bounty Man-Shakin Sugar) & Caits Icon (Texas Icon- Caits Dash) completed the order of finish.

TICKLE UR FANCY

Ten wins from eighteen starts for a 4-year-old
filly is pretty impressive, and that is exactly what Tickle Ur Fancy has done so far. Her latest win was the $23,535 Portland Meadows Bonus Challenge on Oct. 22.
Tickle Ur Fancy broke second from the 6-gate after a bumped start, but she was in the lead within a couple of jumps. With steady encouragement from jockey Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa, Tickle Ur Fancy finished 1/2-length to the good, stopping the timer in :22.344 to earn a 92 speed index.
The $11,768 winner’s share ups her total earnings to $74,080, and her race record is now 18-10(2)-3(2)-1(1) with an additional stakes win
in the Pot O’Gold Futurity at Sun Downs. Her connections include owner Hayden Brothers Ranch and trainer Hector Magallanes.
Tickle Ur Fancy was bred in Oklahoma by Bobby D. Cox out of unraced Sizzling Lola. The mare has produced 22 starters, including 2-time Grade 3 winner JD Baccarat who is also her top earner. Sizzling Lola has also produced additonal stakes winners Political Debut & Mc Graw and stakes placers Sizzling Perry & Sizzlin Mr Perry.
Sneakin TR (TR Dasher-Sneak Bac), showing grit and determination, was able to get up for second place for his team, which includes owner Connie Chumbley and trainer Scott Raley. Kassie Guglielmino was in
the saddle. Perrys Getting Down (Mr Jess Perry-First Down Toll) hesitated at the start and settled for a third place finish for owners Adrian & Atilano G. Gonzalez. Juan Romo Jr. trains the gelding and had Jonathan Roman handling the reins. Followed by Lebron 6 (Jess Zoomin-Jn Sonoma Rose), Shez Sneakin Fast (Heza Fast Dash-Sneak Bac), Sorelli (Brookstone Bay-Cupids Special Fly), Rare Ed (Dean Miracle-Ms Corona Jet) & Flyin Rocks (Fly Chisholm Fly-Rocks El Dorado TB) completed the order of finish.
