Future Of Les Bois Park
Live racing at Les Bois Park ended in 2015 after the Idaho legislature forced the track to pull the plug on its historical racing machines, which were installed in 2014 at a purchase price of $2 million. Treasure Valley Racing has leased the racetrack and the Turf Club from Ada County since 2011, and continues to hold the lease which expires at the end of 2020. Treasure Valley Racing management believes there are only two options available now: to keep pursuing the instant racing machines or to abandon all efforts. Treasure Valley Racing President John Sheldon stated, however, that they, “remain committed to finding a way to bring live horse racing back.”
